Trenton Morton Trenton Morton 6'3" | SF/SG Newkirk | 2027 State OK is a complete offensive weapon who can score at all 3 levels and consistently puts up the numbers to prove it. Morton shows up and competes at every game, event, camp, and showcase he attends, earning All-Tournament Team honors after averaging 31 points per game back in July. The 6’3 guard does everything well, bringing a strong feel for controlling the flow of both the offense and defense. He is coachable, confident, and not afraid to call the shots or step up when the game is on the line.

Morton can knock down big-time shots from all ranges, attack the rim, and finish with nasty dunks above the basket. His defensive instincts add another dimension, as he disrupts passing lanes and quickly turns steals into fast-break opportunities. His combination of scoring ability, athleticism, leadership, and feel makes him a difficult matchup on both ends of the floor. Expect to hear Morton’s name plenty this winter as he looks to make a major impact for Newkirk.

Northern Oklahoma bucket getter with deceptive hops and also big time range from deep. Microwave type shooter, who can heat up and drain multiple threes in quickness succession. Off the bounce he plays strong on drives, then suddenly can raise up and punch it home with authority. Has been a bit of a hidden gem, from the small town ranks. But continuing to make noise this spring and summer makes him a priority name, who should be a priority for JuCo and NAIA programs.

Shoot-first mentality, oozes confidence, always looking to assert himself as a scorer. Morton looked for isolation opportunities to create for himself off the bounce, often looking to get downhill and apply pressure at the rim. His aggressive attacking led him to the foul line multiple times in a half, consistently generating free throw opportunities. In the open floor, Morton exploded off two feet throwing down a hard and powerful double-handed slam dunk, displaying an elite level of hops and finishing ability in transition.

A junior who is a solid athlete and even better perimeter shooter. Caught him in a game earlier this month where he hit at least 6 three pointers. Can get it going off the bounce or as a spot up threat with deep range. Has these moments of next level athleticism, which included a dunk in transition and an impressive block. The vertically is there, but he needs to work on being more fluid in his lateral movements. Newkirk is 8-8 on the year and with a shooter like Morton, could cause some upsets come playoff time.

A northern Oklahoma small town sleeper. Very good functional athlete, as he can dunk when given the opportunity. But also can use his good hangtime to hang in the air long enough to hit tough shots. Also utilizes ball fakes on drives to keep defenders guessing. Can drain threes off the bounce as well. If Saturday was any indication, Morton could be among the better small town scorers in all of Oklahoma this winter.
