About Hakeen

How would you briefly describe your gameplay style?

I’m a versatile combo guard who can score and create for others. I like attacking the basket aggressively and pulling up for mid-range shots when the defense gives me space. I work hard on both ends and always try to make smart plays.

Can you provide a brief description of your mentality or personality?

A go getter , likes to play hard and will compete

Are you involved in any clubs, organizations, or have you received any non-sport awards?

I’m not currently involved in any clubs or organizations, but I’m focused on improving my basketball and staying disciplined with my schoolwork. I’m always looking for ways to grow both on and off the court.

What skills or qualities have you developed, such as leadership, teamwork, or community service?

I went from being a quiet kid my freshman year to now being more talkative and I can easily express myself. The growth I've had has allowed me to be a better leader.

Have you faced any significant challenges? If so, please describe.

A significant transition I had moving from Bremerton Washington living with my grandparents as a elementary student to moving to Tacoma Washington to live with my Father had it's challenges as well as a big cultural shock. Making the move has helped me to be able to except change and focus on growth. All of that has prepared me to deal with our high school coach leaving my senior year.

What type of college are you looking for?

I'm looking for a college I can grow in academically as well as grow on the court. I'm looking for a college that has a good student environment.

Collins is a well-built, athletic guard/wing who simply overpowered a lot of teams last season with his downhill ability. He’s a quick leaper who can make an impact on the glass and defend multiple positions. He’ll be counted on to have the ball a lot at Franklin Pierce this winter, and if he can find a little more consistency with his jumper, he’ll be in for a big year.
