St. Charles Team Scrimmage Report Part 1

Taking a look at the 3A state runners-up last year in a scrimmage against 4A Wise.    He's a smart, unselfish guard prospect with an extremely tight handle and lethal penetration sense. Selby touches the paint at will, where he's able to finish through contact or make passes to open teammates. He's a good midrange shooter and playmaker who sees the floor well when attacking. Selby also provides solid energy as a defender at the point of attack. Next in his development process is working on his consistency from beyond the arc and making better decisions with the ball, as it would make him more difficult for opponents to contain.     First time watching this super quick sophomore point guard.Showcased a polished, well-rounded identity, Jamari Rogers. High-motor guard prospect with a crafty handle and smooth scoring arsenal. Rogers is a quality shooter from midrange and beyond the arc, but also attacks closeouts as needed and sets up others at a strong rate. Whether knocking down shots, touching the paint, or making plays in transition, he's a reliable offensive threat. On the other end, Rogers stands out as a developing defender with the quickness and toughness to cause consistent problems for opponents. Next, in his development process it is working to get stronger, as it would make him a better finisher through contact.     He's evolving and developing his game at the second level and could quickly become a threat from 15-17 feet, adding versatility to his offensive profile. A natural at finding the ball, Cayden rebounds effectively for his position, capitalizing on second-chance opportunities. His defensive approach is developing and passing ability seems to be on the rise, making him a well-rounded player on both ends of the floor.     A scrappy, unselfish guard prospect who can initiate the offense and get others involved in the action. Carson is quite comfortable playing without the ball and knocking down perimeter jumpers off the catch. He's a willing passer-by who consistently looks to make the right play with the ball in his hands. Carson also provides a steady defensive and transition presence with his quickness. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would make him a more lethal spot-up threat and play with more patients.     Green is an developing defender who contains his assignment, and sees the floor very well in transition. He also rebounded well for his size/position. Next in his development process is working on his ability to move without the ball, as it would allow him to find even more opportunities as a spot-up threat.     Uwodia is a strong, undersized post prospect with a nice motor and very unselfish approach to the game. Uwodia has the potential to be a serviceable midrange shooter, but also finds a lot of success as a finisher, screener, passer (Might be the best passer on the team), and overall defender. He handles the ball well for his size, soft hands and understands how to make decisions off the catch at the elbow. Uwodia utilizes its blend of motor, size, and fluidity to be disruptive defensively. He's a capable rebounder but has the tools to control the glass consistently if he positions his body between the man and the ball.
