Thanksgiving week I attended five tournaments and one stand alone game for exactly 24 games and 48 different teams. The events I watched were Phoenix Union Coyote Classic at Central HS, Beyond Basketball Thanksgiving Basketball Tournament at Moon Valley, Millennium at Sandra Day O'Connor, Fear The Hop Tournament at Mesa HS, Sentinel Holiday Classic at Seton Catholic and Horizon Honors and lastly the LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC.

Here were some 2026 PG Standouts

[player_tooltip player_id='2466067' first='Adrian' last='Stubbs'] Maryvale (Pictured)

A high level scorer who is one of the best live dribble passers in the state. He splits defenders effortlessly and will throw the perfect dime as a true needle threader with lobs, slips and dump offs. He talks all game long to his teammates and he will collect steals in bunches with his tough mindset. He scored 20 points with almost all 10 assists and steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1574517' first='Jaylin' last='Ideran'] Camelback

A two-way scoring point guard had a big game with 33 points. He will get to the rim, rattle in threes, he has a sharp ball fake and will go up with tough shots in traffic with off balance takes. He rebounds well for a guard and had about six or seven steals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1490240' first='Colton' last='Watson'] Sanda Day O'Connor

A bigger lead guard or point forward type. He sees the court really well and defends multiple positions at a high level. He can hit the catch three and is very patient in the post to score. He will dunk it on the break and rebounds and blocks shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='1832786' first='Marcus' last='Murray'] Sunrise Mountain

A pure point guard who can score. He has blow speed with a sneaky fast first step and a burst. He smartly moves without the ball and often cuts for layups. He can hit the three plus sees the court well to make his teammates around him better. He scored 11 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1482211' first='Noah' last='Gloor'] Higley

One of the top scoring point guards in the class makes it look easy in stretches. He scores it from mid-range with pull-ups with driving layups, floaters, cuts when he should and offensive rebound put backs with his bounce. He scored 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1900362' first='Colby' last='Jessup'] Valley Christian

A highly skilled lead guard hit three off the catch with college line range. He is almost automatic from the three point line once he sets his feet. Inside he uses double moves and plays off of two-feet and can thread the needle to his teammates. He scored 22 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1951728' first='Zachary' last='Jiggens'] ALA-Ironwood

A good showing for the point guard. He can hit the three off the catch with a quick release. He defends point guards and then centers, showing off his versatility as a defender. He rebounds well and will score it off the dribble and with back door layups. He scored 20 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='2620728' first='LaDamian' last='Jackson'] Desert Sunrise

An athletic, super quick and fast point guard. He is a capable three point shooter but is best getting to the basket driving by with either hand. He is naturally fast in the open court and has quick feet and hands for defense. He scored 19 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1570935' first='Kyler' last='Frye'] McClintock

A natural scoring lead guard filled up the scoreboard with 21 points. He will drive by his opponents with quick bursts and uses the floater game and will cut to the basket. He loves the mid-range pull-up and will hit the three.

[player_tooltip player_id='2135689' first='Jordan' last='Porter'] Mica Mountain

A pure point with a tight handle can score. He will put up points with layups in transition, hit the three and he has quick hands to grab a ball in the air and go quickly the other way and dime a teammate. He scored 9 points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1596491' first='Justin' last='Rhodes'] Valley Vista

An undersized point guard is improving as he is aging. He can shoot it from mid to the three and will direct some of the offense. He shares the lead guard duties with [player_tooltip player_id='2282935' first='Parker' last='Counts'] and should have an even bigger role next year.

Thanksgiving week I attended five tournaments and one stand alone game for exactly 24 games and 48 different teams.
