They go as he goes. He is an athletic wing who can carry his team on his back and will them to victory. He is a multi-level scorer who can score in bunches. His quick release makes it hard for defenders to recover or close out on him. He is small but a relentless competitor on both ends of the floor. His two-way impact will be needed for the Lions to be successful.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- /wp:acf/evaluation-block --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em>Coaches Corner</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size">I asked Coach Murks to give me two names of players he believes will be able to make a significant impact this year, and his response was very calculated as he sent a message to his entire team. Coach Murks believes all his players are equally important, and it will take them all buying into their roles and executing to the best of their ability. He was adamant that no one guy is more important than the other, which he believes is the definition of a team.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em>Style of Play</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size">The Lions have three returning starters from last year's 24-6 team, which should provide on-court leadership and experience. Look for Coach Murks' squad to try and build off last season's success and hopefully be motivated by how it ended. He hopes his team can play dominating defense and try to push the pace on offense. Coach Murks believes that the keys to the season will be how well his team can defend, shot selection and taking care of the ball on offense, as well as rebounding on both ends.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong><em>What Will It Take for The Lions To Win State?</em></strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph {"fontSize":"medium"} --> <p class="has-medium-font-size">Coach Murks believes that his guys have to fall back in love with the game, their teammates, and the process of improving.
