makes his presence felt with effort and physicality. The 6’5” forward defends across the floor, talked on the back line, and finished inside off seals and second efforts. He plays the role teams win with — doing the dirty work reminds you why he profiles as a solid mid-major Division II target.

An ideal glue guy, Barkley put up a loaded line of 10 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists, and 2 blocks, impacting every possession. He consistently looked to make the right play on both ends, whether screening, facilitating, rebounding, or defending across positions. Defensively, his switch-ability was elite, effectively guarding 1 through 5. His lateral quickness and cross-step speed kept him attached to ball-handlers, while his chest and wall-up discipline shut down drives, forcing kick-outs and tough misses. His motor popped in weak-side help, where he delivered strong, timely blocks. His instincts for when to trap were impressive, walking defenders into the sideline and forcing them to pick up the dribble with perfect timing. Offensively, he proved to be an instinctive passer with real playmaking upside, throwing precise lasers from either hand along the baseline or from the top of the key. He dropped timely bounce passes to backdoor cutters, catching ball-watching defenders every time.

Barkley’s game has aged like a fine wine. The jumper has always been pure, but now his reads are sharper, his frame stronger, and his leadership quieter but unmistakable. He makes the right play, whether it’s an extra pass or a deep three. St. Edward’s picked up a player who understands how to win—and how to make others better in the process.

Nolan was the main scorer for Austin Austin 6'2" | CG Covenant Classical | 2027 TX St. Michaels in their key win to open up the tournament over Denton Guyer and he showed a very versatile offensive game. Barkley consistently scored from all 3 levels, especially from deep range with an efficient jumper when left open. Nolan knows how to drive and dish well, but he can also finish through tough contact and can function well off a pick and roll as the ballhandler. Playing for Austin Austin 6'2" | CG Covenant Classical | 2027 TX Unbreakable this summer, this was my first time getting to watch Nolan and just from scouting this game, I can tell he will definitely be a class of 2026 hooper that makes his way onto everyone’s radars shortly if he isn’t already.
