2025 Hidden Gems in the 757 (Part 1)

With the summer being over and the high school season a few months away, it's that time of year where players are taking visits and researching college programs. With that in mind, we've decided it's a good time to take a look at some under the radar players across the state.   Here's a look at some of the hidden gems in the Hampton Roads area of the state.   [player_tooltip player_id='2451946' first='Tyrell' last='Beverly'] | 6'6” PF | Norcom '25   Beverly had a breakout summer with Team Push on the 3SSB Circuit, and he's a very intriguing prospect who could be an impact player with another year or so down the road. Beverly is a hyper athletic forward who is a big time rim protector and can move his feet on switches, he plays with a great motor running the floor hard and fighting for loose balls, he shows good touch and is improving his range and he's willing to do all the dirty work to help his team win.   [player_tooltip player_id='1956072' first='Jayvion' last='Green'] | 6'4” WF | Maury '25   Green is another player who is chock full of potential moving forward, as he has great physical and athletic tools with a budding skillset that has gotten better over the last few years. The 6'4” wing looks the part with a greta frame and long limbs, he can play on or off the basketball, he gets to spots and can make tough shots and he has all the tools to be a lock down defender as well.   [player_tooltip player_id='2340871' first='Anthony' last='Lewis'] | 6'3” WF | Oscar Smith '25   Lewis is set to have a very good senior season for a loaded Oscar Smith team that is as deep as any public school in the 757, if not all of Class 6. Last year he saw a breakout season and showed his ability to score it as he can drill shots from deep on the move, he can get to spots off the bounce and make contested shots, he jumps passing lanes to get easy buckets in transition and he's a good finisher with both hands in traffic.   Aaron Elliot | 6'1” PG | Lake Taylor '25   Elliot has been a star for Titans the last two years as they've been one of the top teams in the 757 over that time, and he would be a great look for a team who needs a dual threat lead guard. He's a jittery guard who is quick off the bounce and changes speeds well, he is a very good finisher over taller players when he gets downhill, he makes good reads with the ball in his hands and he's a table setter as a point of attack defender as well.   [player_tooltip player_id='1956079' first='Alex' last='Etheridge'] | 6'3” WG | Kellam '25   Etheridge has been a go-to guy for Kellam over the past few years and the Knights should be one of the tougher teams to guard this year with their balance, which will make life a lot easier for him. He's a natural shooter who can stretch the floor and is deadly from behind the arc, he moves well off the ball and makes good reads coming off screens and making cuts and he can attack closeouts and get to the rim too.   [player_tooltip player_id='2340873' first='Jacobi' last='Harper'] | 6'2” WG | Oscar Smith '25   Harper is another part of that talented and experienced Smith team that will be really good, and his ability to affect the game on both ends of the floor is very impressive. The 6'2” guard plays with toughness and a great motor that allows him to make the hustle plays, he attacks aggressively downhill and finishes well through contact, he moves well off the ball and he can make shots from multiple levels too.
