2024 IYBL Back to School League- Class of 2029-2030 Wing Players

The stability of small and power forwards often play a significant role on the way a basketball team can perform. Forwards are known for grabbing rebounds, blocking shots and doing all the intangibles. Scoring the ball are major strengths the players in these positions can provide also.    Pierre has the capabilities of being an excellent small forward as he continues to grow into the position. As of now, he is the size of a guard but his playing style screams forward. Pierre has the ability of making high level passes, shooting mid range shots and scoring in the post against opposing defenders. He showed the ability to run the floor, handle the ball and finish on fast breaks. A very tenacious rebounding forward who always seemed to find the ball every time he crashed the boards, regardless of taller players being in the paint. On numerous occasions, I saw him attack the defender in isolated situations, which lead to drives and finishes at the rim. Pierre is a great defensive player who forced at least four turnovers that I saw over the weekend. He plays a pressurized style of defense against all players. The opposing players position didn't matter because I saw him guard ball handlers and post players. Pierre is a really good all around player who'll continue to improve.     Noah is an excellent player who I watched dominate the post at the back to school tournament. He showed great footwork in the paint and scored on most of the shots he took. A very tough and physical player who often looked for contact from opposing defenders. Of course, this lead to multiple three point play opportunities that he converted by making his free throws. Noah also has the ability to face up defensive players and and knock down mid range shots or attack the basket off the dribble. Excellent at grabbing offensive rebounds and scoring on put-backs. This young man is a really good passer along with being very nimble for his size. Noah was very effective, whenever he stepped on the court. In the last few minutes of the game, I saw him make a big time three pointer to bring his team a little closer in a game that was very competitive.       A tough rugged player who plays with aggression on both ends of the court. He plays with physicality in the paint, often crashing boards and scoring tough baskets.(sometimes through contact) Keegan can put the ball on the floor and get to the basket for easy scores. Has great footwork and post moves that made him very effective within the Showtime Gray offense. A decent mid-range shooter and passer who made a couple of highlight style assists to open teammates. Keegan is a really good defensive player who I saw block three shots that were very beneficial towards his team's victory. Driving into the paint was not an easy task for the opposing team. With this young man patrolling the middle scoring didn't come easy. Keegan has a lot of upside to his basketball skills. If he continues to progress.. the sky's the limit.     Aggressive player who has a variety of ways to score the basketball. He has the ability to penetrate the lane, knock down mid-range shots as well as three point baskets. Maddox is a really good offensive player who knows how to get open and make the necessary plays needed to be effective. He's very athletic and quick with or without the ball in his hands. Runs the floor well and never seems to tire. In transition, he had no issues finishing at the basket. Excellent rebounding forward who attacked the glass with reckless abandon. I saw him grab close to double digit boards during the teams win over the weekend. Maddox is a really good defender who used his length to generate turnovers that lead to easy scores for his teammates. He plays with energy on both offense and defense. This young man plays with a calm demeanor on the basketball court.     Excellent shooter who made three point shots with relative ease. Drew is a really good offensive player who scores in bunches! He can drive by defenders and attack with a variety of finishes at the basket. His mid-range game is also dangerous for the opposition. I watched him make a high percentage of his shots over the weekend from all over the court. He's also a good free throw shooter who converted on most of his opportunities. This guy always seem to find himself open to make plays, whether for himself or teammates. Drew has catch and shoot ability that's able to work in any kind of offensive set. A good defender who constantly stayed with his opponent by not giving up any driving lanes. Good all around player who'll continue to progress as he grows and ages.     Jeremy is still Jeremy!! This will be my second write up of this talented young man. What I saw is a player who's still very tenacious on the boards. I called him the "rebounding machine" because every ball that seemed to miss, Jeremy was always there to grab it. (11 rebounds) He continues to have an excellent mid-range shot that he constantly knocks down. In the game he converted on numerous three point plays by scoring through contact. The first time I watched him play, Jeremy knocked down the game winning three to win the championship for his squad. This young guy still has that same ability of stepping out beyond the arc and making shots. Jeremy was already a good defensive player but now he's even better! He literally finished the game with 6 steals and tough man to man defense that really disrupted how the opposing team played offense. He only finished the game with 9 points, but he excelled at all the intangibles needed to help the team win.     Easton is an excellent shooter who has the capability of making long or mid-range shots. He displayed the ability to create his own shots with excellent ball handling. In isolated situations, he showed the ability to drive the ball to the basket for easy scores at the rim. Easton is a very skilled player on the offensive side of the ball. Excellent rebounding player who happens to be a really good defender. He was constantly velcroed to opposing players. He had no issues fighting through screens and disrupting the shots of his opponents. Easton is a good all around player who does everything on the basketball court, while being the type of player who lets the game come to him. I noticed him playing the game at his own pace. A leader of the team who communicates on both sides of the ball.     Jordan showed the ability of scoring various ways inside the painted area. Most of the points he scored were on hustle plays such as put backs and layups. He occasionally knocked down mid-range jump shots in isolated situations. Jordan was great at running the floor and finishing in fast break situations. A great rebounding big man who finished the game with double-digit boards. On defense, he's an elite shot blocker who emphatically swatted away a few shots with great timing and leaping ability. His biggest strength was the sheer hustle he had to be a part of every play on the court. In my opinion, Jordan can become a really special player in the coming years. Once he improves his offensive game.. he'll become a real problem for opposing defenses.
