It’s always interesting to see the different types and molds of perimeter players, and Harris definitely fits the bill as a strong, physical guard who likes to get downhill toward the rim. In doing so, he put consistent pressure on opposing bigs to protect the paint on Saturday and Sunday. Yahya uses his body well to initiate contact and create space, showing success finishing through and around longer defenders. He doesn’t look to overdribble when in isolation, typically making one or two quick moves before attacking his primary defender. He also crashes the offensive glass regularly, creating extra scoring opportunities around the rim. There’s a lot to like about Yahya’s overall game and the strides he can still make moving forward. If Harris can take care of the basketball and become more consistent with his approach, there’s little doubt his game will continue to evolve. Look for his perimeter shooting to also play a big part in the future which should allow him to see more space to operate.

Harris has started the season off to a blistering start. Harris had 40 points on over 50% shooting against Sandhills/Thedford last Saturday.

Coming off of a really good Summer, Harris is one of the most confident and electric shooters in this class. He does not need much space at all and will hunt his shots, always forcing a defender to know where he is. Harris is also a great athlete and can get downhill quickly. He isn’t afraid of contact, drawing lots of fouls, and is a great free-throw shooter.

Already one of the more physically developed players on his team, Harris more than looks the part of a future college hooper. With a long frame that he uses in shot creation on the perimeter, as a defender and to throw down dunks in transition, Harris has the physical gifts to become one of the better players in the state of Nebraska over the next few seasons.

As a youngster, Harris will need to work on his consistency in all facets of his game, but he is setting himself up for quite the high school career.

Harris has a mature physical frame for his age that he uses to help him finish around the rim. He has good footwork and uses different types of footwork like euro steps to get to the rim.

He has a good handle that allows him to navigate defenses and get to his spot.

Yahya is a solid shooter who didn’t have the best weekend from deep but has made shots in the past at a good level. His form is unique and can lead to his misses being short at times, but it mostly works for him.

His best game for ETG came in their matchup with the Compton Magic where he scored 12 points on two made threes, had three rebounds, and two assists.
