Preseason Player of the Year: 2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2398114' first='Logan' last='Moline'] (Manson-Northwest Webster)

The battle at the top of the league between Manson-Northwest Webster and Emmetsburg will be a ton of fun to watch this winter. The overall balance of Emmetsburg likely prevents one of their players from putting up the eye-popping numbers that Moline will, grabbing him this honor.

First Team

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='2398114' first='Logan' last='Moline'] (Manson-Northwest Webster): 25.0 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 2.2 steals, 51.3 FG%

A strong, athletic guard, Moline is one of the top returning scorers in the state, regardless of class. He uses his strength to get to the rim and finish through contact at a high level, is a good defender who uses his defense to spark the offense, and he's tremendous on the glass.

2026 Kasey Hough (GTRA): 17.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, 2.1 assists, 1.7 steals

Hough led the Titans in scoring as a sophomore, showing the ability to do so from all three levels. He's at his best when he's playing aggressively and looking to score, whether he's operating with or without the ball in his hands, but he can also create looks for his teammates.

2026 [player_tooltip player_id='2731640' first='Owen' last='Mills'] (Sioux Central): 16.0 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals

Mills was strong as a sophomore for the Rebels, leading the team in scoring, rebounding, assists, and steals. He's a strong and athletic 6-0 guard who contributes on both ends of the floor.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1587314' first='Kelan' last='Koval'] (Manson-Northwest Webster): 15.3 points, 5.2 rebounds, 2.9 assists, 1.5 steals

An athletic guard who loves to attack the rim and use his quickness and strength to get to the bucket for finishes, Koval is a talented playmaker who sees the floor well and creates for his teammates.

2025 [player_tooltip player_id='1874771' first='Byron' last='Maina'] (Emmetsburg): 14.2 points, 4.9 rebounds, 1.9 assists, 1.9 steals, 41.4 3P%

There are a number of E-Hawks you could make strong arguments for on the first team, but we'll side with Maina, an athletic guard who can score from all three levels efficiently. He's a bouncy athlete who can create off the dribble for himself and his teammates.
