Lawson is a physical specimen with the kind of frame that immediately jumps off the floor. What makes him even more intriguing is how quickly his inside-out scoring is coming along. He’s growing as a ball handler, getting more comfortable creating his own looks, and using his size to get to his spots with power. The tools are there, and as the skill continues to tighten, his ceiling only gets higher.

Game Review: Darius has done a great job of getting in the lane and using his athleticism to finish over and through defenders, even breaking out euro-step dunks.

Lawson brings a rugged offensive game, capable of handling the ball and creating shots from mid-range. His ability to slide between guard and wing roles makes him a valuable piece for Forrest City’s future.

Evaluation: Impactful, bully ball wing/forward

Measurable Improvements: Faster with the ball in hand and better coordination

Best varsity fit/role: Mobile forward who can use his size, length, and aggressiveness on both ends

Lawson Jr. brings a solid frame and positional upside that makes him intriguing. He glides in open space, transition, and he even shows glimpses of combo guard instincts. Still learning how to leverage his length on both ends, but the flashes of shot creation and defensive disruption are real. If the jumper stabilizes, he could become a mismatch nightmare.
