USA Youth Hoops: Summer Invitational 2030 Top Players

The stars were aligned for the top tourney players of the class of 2030. These young men stood out over the weekend by showcasing the various skills they possessed on the basketball court. I truly believe these young men have all the intangibles needed to succeed in middle school basketball.    Demaree showed the ability of scoring in the painted area. Most of the points he scored were on hustle plays such as put backs and layups. He can finish around the basket with either hand and grab rebounds at a very high level. Damaree was great at running the floor and finishing in fast break situations. A very athletic player who can block shots and make it tough for opposing players to score the basket. With his young age, the sky is the limit for his growth as a basketball player; for years to come.     Cason is a excellent shooter who has the capability of making long or mid-range shots. He displayed the ability to create his own shots by using his ball handling to get around opposing defenders. Tough little guard who plays fearless and doesn't mind contact with bigger players. Good ball handler and passer who has the capabilities of playing the point guard spot. He demonstrated he's more comfortable playing shooting guard with his aggressiveness on offense. Tough defender who plays a ball hawking style that really irritates opposing guards.     A talented all-around player with a variety of basketball skills. Owen has the ability to score anywhere on the basketball court. He has a smooth jump shot from both mid and long range. Over the weekend I watched him convert on four three pointers in a highly contested game against a really good Blackout squad. He finished the game with a team high 19 points. Good ball handler who had no problems getting to the basket for easy scores. On defense, he showed the ability of being a good defender by making scoring opportunities tough for the opposition.     Saint is the prototypical floor general who showed great leadership abilities. The skills he displayed as a point guard truly made the offense run smoothly . He lead the team in assists and ran the Prolific offense like a coach on the floor. Saint is a excellent ball handler who can create for himself or others. Great assist man who constantly found open teammates for easy shot opportunities. He had no issues slashing to the basket and making mid range shots. I can definitely see him succeeding at the next level as a point guard.     Isiah is a high energy player who plays an aggressiveness style of basketball on both ends of the floor. He loves driving by defenders and attacking the basket. Showed he can step outside the paint and score from mid range. Great at grabbing rebounds on both offense and defense. I personally watched Isiah grab at least five offensive rebounds and score on put backs. The sheer hustle and effort he had on the court is what any coach would ask for. Isiah showed great effort on defense by hustling back, playing passing lanes and forcing turnovers. Good player who has all the intangibles needed to help his team win games.     Offensive scorer who has the ability to drive the lane and make shots. He is a good passer who looks to put his teammates in scoring positions. Has the ability to shoot mid range and three pointers with relative ease. Plays with physicality in the paint, often crashing boards and scoring tough baskets. He runs the floor well and finishes on fast break opportunities. Steady defender who stays with his man on the defensive end of the court. Luke is the perfect example of a player with a good all-around feel for the game of basketball.     Kingston is a good shooter from the floor, often making floaters, mid-range jumpers and three point shots if given the opportunity. He has great offensive skills which allowed him to stay in constant attack mode when he was on the floor. Good ball handling and free throw shooting ability. Kingston plays with a high level of feistiness on defense. He is a tough minded guard who really pressures opposing guards into mistakes and turnovers. Really good player who is capable of being a major factor on any squad he plays with.
