Friday night kicked off our weekend out in Chicago at the Prep Hoops Next Midwest Me[player_tooltip player_id='2403249' first='Lee' last=''] event. In this event we have 29 teams coming in to compete at the 14U level so we are sure in for some competitive basketball over the next few days. In the article below we highlight of handful of prospects that did their thing on Friday night and showed out in a number of ways.

Thanks for tuning in and enjoy!

#X - [player_tooltip player_id='2386573' first='Maddux' last='Oberts'] - 2028 - 6'1 - C/PF - Illinois Elite Basketball 2028 Bell (IL)

Oberts is a solid Post at 6'1. He moves well for his size and gets from rim-to-rim in quite a hurry. He has demonstrated that he is a better than after rebounder and he works relentlessly to do his best inside the lane to be as dominate as possible. If he continues to keep things simple and work on his progression over the next few years, he could put together a rememberable high school career at the end of the day.

#0 - [player_tooltip player_id='2438582' first='Albert' last='[player_tooltip player_id='2403249' first='Lee' last='']'] - 2028 - 5'8 - PG - PAC Elite 2028 (IL)

[player_tooltip player_id='2438582' first='Albert' last='[player_tooltip player_id='2403249' first='Lee' last='']'] is a Point Guard with a quick dribble, great passing ability, and the shooting stroke to get hot from deep in a hurry. He moves well off of the ball once he passes it but his best ability is when he has control of the basketball and his teams offense. He can create and facilitate off the dribble at a higher rate than most and he can finish in the open court in transition, while always leading by example no matter what he is doing on the floor.

#7 - [player_tooltip player_id='2382239' first='Ryan' last='Studenroth'] - 2028 - 5'11 - SF - Work Until Basketball (IL)

Studenroth is someone that runs the floor well and he can finish through contact in transition but he can also post up and hit his opponent with a back-to-the-basket type move, making him a liability to any defender anytime he is one the court. If he decides to post and is doubled, he has shown the ability to pass it out to an open teammate or he can work through the double team for a clean shot at the rim. At times he will also step outside the three point line, showing off that he can pick-and-roll or pick-and-pop. All in all, he has shown a little bit of promise in several aspects throughout a game if given the chance.

#43 - [player_tooltip player_id='2438022' first='Dylan' last='Mrachek'] - 2028 - 6'3 - C - PAC Elite 2028 (IL)

I think that [player_tooltip player_id='2438022' first='Dylan' last='Mrachek'] could turn into someone that we hear about at the high school in the future quite a lot. Mrachek is 6'3, lengthy, and he moves well for his size. He is someone that gets down the floor in a hurry and he knows what to do once he gets down into the paint on both sides of the ball. After Mrachek has more experience and he grows into his size more over the next two years, he has shown the promise to be able to become a problem for opponents down the line.

#X - [player_tooltip player_id='2405319' first='Landen' last='Wiersma'] - 2028 - 6'3 - Forward - [program_tooltip program_id='2076023' first='Wisconsin' last='Academy'] 2028 [player_tooltip player_id='2389565' first='Riley' last=''] (WI)

[player_tooltip player_id='2405319' first='Landen' last='Wiersma'] is a physical big with a great combination of balance, coordination, and touch on the basketball whenever it comes his way. He isn't only a big, he is also someone that is athletic enough to bring it out to the perimeter. He can score from attacking on the outside or he can defend small guards that he may switch on with his mixture of length and athletic ability. His team is stacked with long and skilled playmakers all over the court. When he is used in the correct way and everyone else is doing their thing, he becomes almost unstoppable. Teams have to play him 1v1 and when that happens, his eyes seem to light up and he starts to go to work.
