Sunday's action of the Bluff City Blues event featured a lot of talented freshmen.

A handful of them were in an overtime thriller.

Here are the best freshmen prospects from Sunday:

Sawyer Wright, Sammie Lewis Elite 2027: It doesn't happen often, but Wright went a perfect 13 for 13 from the field. In the 72-70 win over the J.A.G Elite Jaguars 2027, the freshman guard made shots from the perimeter, making some of them with a hand in his face. Wright got into rhythm early in the contest and stayed in it.

Wright's teammate, Tejay Daley, was the other double-digit scorer, finishing with 22 points on a perfect 9 for 9 from the field. Daley did most of his damage in the paint, driving into the lane, while the contact was there waiting for him. Daley didn't run away from the contact. Instead, he spearheaded his way through it. Daley is a high energy guard, plays with an edge, plays at a fast pace, while maintaining enough energy to finish the contest.

Trelyn Shepard, J.A.G. Elite Jaguars 2027: Shepard was a bruiser in the paint, dropping 27 points in the loss to Sammie Lewis Elite 2027. For most of the contest, Shepard either played with his back to the basket or took his defender off the dribble from the baseline. He did make some shots from 15-feet out, but Shepard was more effective in the paint. He scored on a lot of possessions when he had his opponent pinned deep in the painted area.

Eli Williams, [program_tooltip program_id='2126686' first='Legacy' last='Elite'] 15U: Williams was one of the more impressive guards over the weekend. What's the best way to describe the freshman point guard? Relentless. With his team trailing by 3 to the Mississippi Falcons in the waning seconds, Williams caught the ball near mid-court, dribbled towards the top of the key before draining a game-tying 3 to send the game into overtime. [program_tooltip program_id='2126686' first='Legacy' last='Elite'] went on to win the game, 65-63. Williams finished with 15 points.

Landon Henning, [program_tooltip program_id='2126686' first='Legacy' last='Elite'] 15U: Henning is a 6-foot-9 freshman big man. Yeah, you read that correctly. Henning is a good rim runner. He sets solid screens. Henning moves well without the basketball. He's a trash talker. Henning's loves to box out. He likes to alter shots at the rim. Henning has an efficient free throw jump shot. He has a floater that's difficult to block. There's a lot to like about Henning moving forward. He has potential to be a solid player in the 2027 class.

In total, [program_tooltip program_id='2126686' first='Legacy' last='Elite'] 15U had four guys to score in double figures. The team received solid contributions from talented prospects Dre'mail Carothers (15 points) and Braylon Kelly (12 points).

Markell Heard, SEMO United 15U: Heard has upside. He has athleticism, nice length and great touch around the rim. Heard is a respectable ball handler and shot maker. He had 8 points in a 56-52 win over Sammie Lewis Elite 15U.

Brennen Meloy was SEMO United's primary ball handler. He handles pressure well, isn't too quick to have a bad turnover. Meloy can make shots from the perimeter and doesn't need a lot of shots to get into rhythm. He finished with 12 points.

Nicolai Sohahong-Kombet was just as impressive as his two teammates. He made key shots down the stretch, finishing with 12 points. From what was displayed on Sunday, Sohahong-Kombet, Meloy, and Heard are only going to get better from a mental and physical aspect.

Sunday's action of the Bluff City Blues event featured a lot of talented freshmen.
