Jayden Kim
About Jayden
Expert Analysis
Robbie Hodin | Prep Hoops Scout
Kim just finished his senior season at South Portland and is doing a PG year at Kents Hill, where he should definitely be a key part of their rotation. He’s a phenomenal on-ball defender who competes for 94 feet throughout the entire game. Offensively, Kim is shifty with the dribble and can finish well at the rim, using great leaping ability and body control. He can shoot from the outside but certainly prefers to burrow his way into the paint where he can use his sturdiness and density. Definitely a D3 prospect.

Jayden Kim Jayden Kim 5'11" | PG Kents Hill | 2025 New E is a point guard who is very well-rounded as a basketball player. On the offense end, he can shoot from deep both off the dribble and off the catch while also finishing his drives at the rim. Kim can play make for others, having a good understanding and sense of double teams. He whips passes to the perimeter for open shooters and can run the pick-and-roll at a high level. Kim also competes hard on the defensive end of the court, picking up the opposing lead ball handler and acting as a pest for the ball. The word to describe his game in full is what I would like to call, mature. Coaches and programs needing a stabilizing force in their guard room should highly consider Kim as an option.

Kim, an All-NEPSAC honoree in his first season at Kents Hill, is a dynamic lead guard that has a terrific feel for how to run an offense. A blur in the open floor, Kim is a guard that can really push the tempo when he has the ball in his hands. He’s a capable shooter from behind the arc, particularly when he’s off the ball in catch-and-shoot situations. With the ball in his hands he does a good job as a creator; he’s shifty, has a quick first step, and does a good job of keeping his dribble alive. As he continues to get comfortable play in ball screens, his ability to creator for others should continue to improve. Defensively, he does a terrific job of guarding at the point of attack and keeping opposing guards out of the paint.
