Carey Smith | Prep Hoops Scout
Brown continues to post attention grabbing stat lines early in the 2024-25 season. This week it was a 25-point effort against Phelps School. Brown’s skills, athleticism, solid frame, and quickness have established him as one of the top uncommitted power forwards in the region. He can attack the rack off the dribble. He can also operate on the baseline where he can catch alley-oops. Brown’s accurate jump shot with 3-point range catches opponents by surprise. Brown also runs rim-to-rim extremely well.

Over the weekend we highlighted Brown as one of the top uncommitted power forwards in the region. On Saturday he made us look good by posting 22 points, 8 rebounds and 12 blocks against Mt. Zion. Brown’s athleticism and quickness were on full display as he frequently blew past defenders off one or two dribbles for dunks and lay-ins. His jump shot proved to be a legitimate weapon too. Brown also ran the floor for secondary beak points. Obviously on defense Brown was a shot blocking machine.

Brown is a developing power forward who posted a breakout stretch of games this fall. Included in his stellar fall ball runs was a 23-point performance at the CBG JUCO / Prep Showcase. Brown is an athletic and quick prospect who possesses imposing size, a large wingspan, and explosive leaping ability. With his length and solid frame, Brown can finish strong from the baseline and the dunker spot. Brown has shown flashes of a jumper with range out to the arc. At the other end of the court, Brown is a tenacious rebounder and an intimidating rim protector. The upside on Brown is ridiculous and college coaches need to clock in now.

Brown’s 23-point outburst last week at the CBG JUCO-Prep Showcase was the latest installment in his breakout stretch of play this fall. His athleticism, size, interior scoring and rebounding skills have been well documented on this site. But recently Brown has also displayed a more accurate jump shot with range out to the arc. His court awareness and footwork have improved too. Brown’s ability to run rim-to-rim and then score on the secondary break is often overlooked. The upside on this stretch 4 / 5 prospect is tremendous.
