King of the City: 4th Team

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>On Saturday March 23rd I attended the&nbsp;<strong>King of the City</strong>&nbsp;hosted by&nbsp;<em>Hoopers On1y</em>&nbsp;located at the Phhacility in Phoenix.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>I viewed mainly 17U mixed in with some 16U or teams playing up in 16U. I ended up watching exactly 20 teams locally.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>My&nbsp;<strong>All-Tournament Teams</strong>&nbsp;are based on the one game I viewed the team. These are NOT prospect rankings.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2367880' first='Saleem' last='Gakiza'] Pinnacle (Peak Platinum 16 NB)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong framed wing forward can score on fall aways, mid-range jumpers and deep threes off the catch. He uses his size to rebound and score on put backs and plays a physical brand of ball on both sides of the court.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1491233' first='Will' last='Feagles'] Notre Dame Prep (Peak Platinum 17)&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A high flying scoring guard plays way above the rim on the break. He can catch and shoot from the three and rattle them in. He is a sneaky good passer and help defender and he is quick in the passing lanes.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2280453' first='Iyzaya' last='Soto'] McClintock (AZ Gremlins Gray 16)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A combo guard who comfortably plays on or off the ball. He likes playing off the ball and firing away with deep range with perfect ball rotation. He can pull-up off the dribble and has a polished floater game. He is one of those players that once he crosses the half court line, he is in range.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1446108' first='Jalen' last='Lucas-Reeves'] Casteel (AZ Gremlins 17)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A stronger upper body framed wing who does a lof of things. He handles it well and can grab a rebound and go up the court on his own. His frame allows him to absorb the contact in the paint or get fouled. He fights hard on defense in the passing lanes and works best from 15-feet and in.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1697292' first='Rylan' last='Parsley'] Sandra Day O'Connor (Roc Steady 17)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A very long and lean athletic scoring guard. He plays way above the rim in transition and had one dunk that surprised a few onlookers. He can score with step backs off the dribble and rattle in catch triples. He uses his length to rebound and collect steals.  </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1371095' first='Noah' last='Oliver'] Canyon View ([program_tooltip program_id='2301191' first='Team' last='Rise N Grind'] 17)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A strong and tough combo guard. He is tough on the ball defensively and anticipates well in the passing lanes. He can find a teammate in stride on the break. He has a sneaky quick first step to get into the paint and will absorb the contact with his stronger upper body frame.&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2386951' first='Malachi' last='Long'] Sequoia Pathfinder (Team Build Legacy 17 )&nbsp;&nbsp;</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A scoring point guard is a bucket. He has a big time mid-range pull-up with high elevation. He will hit catch threes and can also create his own space to get a clean shot off. He will rise up from all levels and plays at his own pace to the game.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1956212' first='Ben' last='Aronson'] Salpointe Catholic (Apex Athletix 16) (Pictured)</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>A pure point who can score. He has longer arms and can hesitate with a sneaky burst to get to the rim. He has deep three point range and cuts when he should. His shooting stroke looks very clean off the catch. He is very active from inside and out. He will hustle for loose balls and grab out of area rebounds and will even block shots off the glass.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
