is quietly trending up and those following in Northern California are starting to take notice. At 6’6”, Mikel has mostly been asked to play inside but his skill set suggests there’s even more to unlock. He’s a capable shooter with clean shooting mechanics and a confident looking release. If given more opportunities to shine on the perimeter, his stock would rise even faster.
What sets him apart right now is his defense. Mikel has a natural feel on that end of the floor and it shows. He averaged over 2 blocks per game on the EYBL circuit, proving he can defend at a high level against elite competition.

He’s longer, still growing and has a frame to fill. He’s benefitted from playing on the EYBL Circuit. He’s moving better, more aggressive with an improving skill set for the forward position. He’s actively going after rebounds and blocks. He’s using his dribble, and body taking on defenders getting to the front of the rim. He looks more comfortable putting up 3’s around the perimeter.

He’s tuned in, more aggressive, and actively trying to do what 6’7 players do. His productivity has gone up across the board. He’s squaring up, looking confident when shooting 3’s around the perimeter. He’s a bit stronger, using his length to score, block shots, rebound, and defend his position. He’s playing against quality competition on the EYBL Circuit.

Mikel continues to add pieces to his overall skill set. The long wing type forward looked comfortable putting up 3’s in the corners and along the perimeter. He’s better conditioned running back and forth, he got a couple of transition buckets. At 6’6 he’s cutting and making himself a target in the post area. He’s finishing around the rim. He got a few blocks, rebounded, and defended his position.

He’s serving as the man in the middle, going up against quality bigs at this event. He’s an improving prospect in the 2027 class with an expanding range to drop corner 3’s. He needs to bulk up a bit, but he’s got the length and improving footwork, and touch around the rim to get his points in paint. He’ll being challenged aggressively attack defenders his size at this event.

At 6’6 and growing, he’s making good progress. He’s going to get his points in the paint at this level using his length, body, and taking it up strong. He hit the short corner jumper. He sets solid screens for his guards, he executed the pick and roll to finish at the rim, making himself a target in the post. He’ll go after blocks, change shots with a quick jump, get rebounds for put backs, and good out lets passing to start the break. He’s a good paint defender at this level. A good upside.

We saw Mikel in the early season. He’s 6’6, still growing. He has to polish up his skill set, but has a good upside to his game. He was active in and around the basket, scoring, and rebounding. He sets screens up top, he’s a target rolling to the basket. He goes up strong, might dunk one. He has lengthy arms and shows good movements on the defensive side of the ball.
