Cavaliers Defeat Seahawks:
The Cavaliers made the trip down from Columbia and defeated the Seahawks 58-48 to move to the 2nd Round on Saturday. The Cavaliers move onto (14-12) on the season while the Seahawks finish (10-14).
Wine Big Down the Stretch:
Senior guard David Wine David Wine 5'10" | PG Richland Northeast | 2024 State SC finished with 17 points while going (9-10) from the foul line for the Cavaliers. David was able to sacrifice his body and take charge on the defensive end of the floor. He connected on a few mid-range jumpers while playing productive all night long for the Cavaliers.
Wilson Was a Load in the Paint Area:
William Wilson William Wilson 6'2" | PF Richland Northeast | 2025 SC is headed to North Carolina State University to play football for the Wolfpack. Wilson a Quarterback on the Gridiron threw for 2,337 yards and 22 touchdowns this past season. Oh yeah, he ran for another 1,527 yards and 25 touchdowns. Wilson just a junior was a load in the paint all night long for the Cavaliers. He plays great with his back to the basket and showed solid footwork and a nice touch. Wilson scored 13 points in the win tonight.
Seahawks Never Led in Game:
Myrtle Beach HS played from behind all night long. The Cavaliers jumped out 17-4 with 2:33 left in the first quarter. The Seahawks trailed 32-25 at the halftime break. Myrtle Beach closed the game to 51-46 with 2:07 left but couldn’t pull it any closer tonight.
Who are These Guys?:
The Seahawks have a bit of no name roster. Senior Gal Levy Gal Levy 6'1" | SG Myrtle Beach | 2024 State SC played his last game in the green and yellow and finished with 12 points. He connected on 4 three-pointers.
Junior guard Matthew Campbell added 9 points while junior guard James Watson James Watson 6'0" | PG Myrtle Beach | 2025 SC added 8 points. Junior forward and football player John Simmons John Simmons 6'3" | SF Myrtle Beach | 2025 State SC added 7 points in the loss.
St James HS defeats Stratford HS (Goose Creek)
The Sharks improved to (21-3) under first year head coach Davis Bowne. St James HS defeated the Knights 68-53 to advance to the 2nd Round on Saturday. Jr Young Jr Young 6'4" | PF St James | 2024 SC scored 28 points in the win. Young was highly effective around the pain area all night long for the Sharks.
Senior Carter Bobbitt Carter Bobbitt 6'4" | SF St James | 2024 State SC finished with 12 points in the win.
The Knights finished the year at (7-20). Junior Khristion Swift Khristion Swift 6'0" | PG Stratford | 2025 State SC finished the night with 23 points in the loss. Nizhier Baldwin a senior finished his career with 13 points. Swift was able to connect on several mid-range jumpers and constantly made himself available around the ball.
