Through late January he was averaging 23 ppg, 5 rpg, and 3 apg. In a loss to Sweetwater, Jayden dropped 42 points! It was his second 40+ showing of the season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>He surpassed 1000 career points in early January. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#122 [player_tooltip player_id='1465840' first='Patrick' last='Carey'] (Hardin Valley)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Patrick's footwork around the arc is incredible. No lie, his step-back is at a professional basketball level in its sharpness of execution. Patrick used to play for Apostolic Christian School. This is his first season with Hardin Valley.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#124 [player_tooltip player_id='1719842' first='Takhyian' last='Whitset'] (Antioch)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Incredible rebounder. Whitset leads the Antioch Bears with 9.0 rebounds per game. TK also scores 14.0 points a night on 69.6% shooting! </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Truthfully, Whitset is only a modest college basketball prospect as long as he devotes his workouts to his #1 sport...football. The dude is a 6-foot-6 250-pound behemoth. Great, great football dimensions. He could play college hoops, but it is not his best opportunity. Purdue football offered him as February 2024 began. Liberty University football was another recent offer. Vandy offered him last year, as did Austin Peay and others.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>TK put 22 points on Lawson High (10-13 FG) and Sycamore (11-15 FG).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">#125 [player_tooltip player_id='2315787' first='Courtney' last='Chaffin'] (Trezevant)</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>High shoulders. Tall. Can bite too early on pump-fakes. A versatile forward, <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2315787' first='Courtney' last='Chaffin']</strong> averages 13.6 ppg with 8.1 rpg, and 6.1 blocks per!</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Courtney's biggest weakness is shooting. He must, must, must improve his free throws! For a long-armed forward with bunnies in his legs, he is going to get fouled. A lot. For him to be hitting just 58% from the stripe is unforgivable. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Along with improving shooting, Chaffin can work on establishing more go-to moves on the block. There is promise to his game, but refinements are needed.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Courtney seems to be a mentally tough young man. He sustained a rolled ankle against Douglass (2/2/24). Sat to gain his composure and then came back in. He was not able to put much weight on it, so ultimately his coach pulled him. It was encouraging to see him give it a go despite the obvious pain though.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
