The varsity games I viewed were on Monday I watched<strong> Rancho Solano Prep Mustangs </strong>defeat<strong> Phoenix Country Day Eagles 64-59.</strong> Tuesday I watched<strong> Mesa Jackrabbits </strong>defeat<strong> Mesa Mountain View Toros 44-38. </strong>Wednesday I viewed<strong> ALA Gilbert North Eagles </strong>defeating<strong> Eastmark Firebirds 60-57. </strong>Thursday I viewed<strong> West Point Dragons </strong>defeat <strong>Maricopa Rams 70-54</strong> and finally Friday I viewed<strong> Desert Vista Thunder </strong>defeating<strong> Gilbert Tigers 63-58. </strong></p>

<p>A power forward is a warrior on the glass. He gets off the floor quickly to rebound and he is an offensive rebounding machine. He can grab and go as he takes a rebound and can take it coast to coast. In the half court set he can rip thru and score in traffic. </p>

<p>A long wing forward is their three point specialist. He hit five triples on the night and gets the ball off of his hands quickly. He has long arms and moves gracefully around the court. He rebounds well with his length and size. </p>

<p>An active wing forward is good on both ends of the floor. He scores in transition with his speed in the open court, jump hook shots and cuts when he should. He will rebound and uses his length in the passing lanes. </p>

<p>A high motored power forward plays hard in the paint and grabs out of area rebounds. He lives in the paint and is sneaky athletic. He even tried to throw one down that surprised some people. He scored 19 points versus rival Mesa Mountain View. </p>

<p>An athletic power forward is a quick second jumper who scores it effectively around the hoop. He will score with contested layups in traffic and gobbles up all balls in his area off the glass. </p>

<p>A long power forward is a plus athletic to rebound and block shots. He can score off of the pick and roll and slip to the basket or pull-up from mid-range. His length bother his opponents. </p>

<p>A power forward with good activity in the paint. He has advanced footwork and patience in the post. He catches tough passes and will go up to score. The lefty has a nice free throw touch and will score on offensive rebound put backs. </p>
