He is a skilled guard who is very aggressive on the offensive end of the floor. He has the green light and showed why as he knocked down 5 trey balls in the day 1 matchup. He has quick burst and explosiveness in tight spaces and does a good job creating opportunities off the bounce. He does it all for his squad, and his trajectory definitely has him making an impact on the varsity level next year. He finished with 17pts against Vestavia.

Michael Glass (5'11/CG/'26/Hoover HS)

IG: iammichaelglass3

X: @mikeglass_3

Michael may have been the player with the best all-around game that I saw the entire day. He does a lot of things well on the court, as he can shoot, pass, score off the bounce, facilitate, and defend. He is a smooth, skilled athlete who plays at a good pace and under control. He showed good decision-making skills, especially in P&R action, and made some good reads and pocket passes. Hopefully, Michael doesn't get lost in the stable of underclassmen guards that Hoover possesses because he definitely has a future producing in somebody's backcourt.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455036' first='Jeremy' last='Wilson'] (5'5/CG/'26/Shades Valley HS)

IG: JeremyTremaine_

Jeremy was one of the purest floor generals I saw on day 1. He is an unselfish pass-first PG who did an excellent job orchestrating the Mounties offense. He plays with his head up, sees the floor well, doesn't over-dribble, and keeps the ball moving. He has natural instincts in the PG position. He sees the game well and makes plays for others. Jeremy has some inconsistencies but overall has a good feel for the game and understands where he is looking to go on the floor and how to get there. Many will question his size, but what you look for in a developing PG is there.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455002' first='Cal' last='Thomas'] (6'0/PG/'26/Leeds HS)

IG: _cal_thomas_

X: @CalBertThomas1

Cal is a lead guard who was at his best off the bounce. His squad ran into a tough Mountain Brook team, so point production was hard to come by. However, Cal was able to create some opportunities that showed promise. He was aggressive in getting to the cup and finishing through contact. Cal impacted the game by scoring and creating for his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455040' first='John' last='Martin'] (6'0/Wing/' 26/Homewood HS)

IG: J1hnmartin

X: @johnwmglizxy9

John brought energy and effort to the floor and is a momentum-shifting caliber player. He flashed his athleticism as he was quick off his feet and battling on the glass. He showed his versatility on the defensive end of the floor as he was able to defend multiple positions. He plays very aggressively with a lot of confidence and does a good job impacting the game without scoring, yet he can score. John could be considered a player who does whatever it takes to put his team in position to win. He is the type of player who makes it hard to keep him off the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id='2455014' first='Finn' last='Hecklinski'] (5'10/CG/'26/Hoover HS)

IG: finnhecklinski

X: @FinnHeck_4

Finn is a listed combo guard but did most of his damage off the ball. He is a multi-level scorer who showed he can shoot the rock from deep. He has a good skill set, as he can serve as another ball-handler and facilitator if needed. Depending on the numbers game, he may grow into the mode of a 3 and D player in the Hoover system, yet he has the potential to bud into so much more. Finn's shot mechanics and form look good, and you can tell he has put in a lot of work in that area of his game, an area that travels wherever he goes on his basketball journey.

Major props to Coach Tyler Davis and the Mountain Brook program for putting on the end-of-year JV/FR #SpartanInvitational. Here are a few players who I saw for the very first time…
