Comage plays for Haywood Head Coach Rodney Chatman. Comage is averaging 10.6 points per through 20 games this year, up from 6.9 ppg last year. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>In 2022-2023, Haywood earned District 14 Runners-Up and Region 7 Champions. Entering this season the Tomcats were tasked with replacing Mr. Basketball Finalist <strong>Tylon Chatman</strong>, rugged forward <strong>Janerus Snipe</strong>, and <strong>Jamari Person</strong>.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1305604' first='Caden' last='Windle'] </strong>(William Blount) will have an opportunity or several as a D1 preferred walk-on. He currently holds offers from Covenant (Georgia), Maryville, Tennessee Wesleyan, Bryan, Kentucky Christian, and Johnson University.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1578677' first='Blake' last='Dean']</strong> (Ezell-Harding) earned an offer from Crowley's Ridge.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1273550' first='Shane' last='Cherry']</strong> intends to visit Auburn after the season "because all of our Saturdays are taken up," said Austin-East Head Coach Denard Bertram last week. "He was supposed to go to the Tennessee/Georgia game, but we played on that day." Auburn Head Coach Bruce Pearl is not averse to playing a shorter lead guard. Remember Jared Harper thrived as a Tiger at 5-foot-9. Cherry is a little bit different than Harper was, in that Cherry is more explosive with better handles and slashing.
