Updated 2025 Rankings: SEPA New Names to Know

By now you are familiar with the prospects at the top of our rankings: wing [player_tooltip player_id='1865248' first='Will' last='Riley'] (numerous DI offers), guard [player_tooltip player_id='991408' first='Meleek' last='Thomas'] (host of DI offers) and power forward [player_tooltip player_id='1153953' first='Luke' last='Bevilacqua'] (multiple DI offers).</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Today we will dig deeper into the Pennsylvania Class of 2025 rankings and review five players who used the November's fall ball action as well as the first month and a half of the 2023-24 high school season to impress us and break into our 2025 rankings for the first time.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Below is a review of five <em>“new”</em> southeastern Pennsylvania prospects who made their 2025 rankings debut in our latest update. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#171…</em></strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2328798' first='Sean' last='Griffin'] </strong><strong>– 6'7” / Bishop Shanahan / PA Hoops Academy / Small Forward:</strong> This stretch-4 prospect with a high basketball IQ has exploded onto the recruiting scene this winter by posting numerous double-doubles. Included in Griffin's double-double onslaught was a 30 points and 12 rebounds effort against Kennett as well as 35 points and 10 boards in an upset of WC Henderson. Griffin (17 ppg. &amp; 8 rpg.) possesses impressive size. He can produce points from the blocks to the elbows and out to the arc. Griffin runs the floor well and is an underrated shot blocker too.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#192…</em></strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2328782' first='Jarrell' last='Little'] </strong><strong>– 6'1” / Dobbins Tech / [program_tooltip program_id='2078705' first='Shawn' last='Warren Elite'] / Combo Guard:</strong> Little is one of the most respected 3-point snipers in the PPL. He possesses a quick trigger, textbook mechanics, and logo range. When he is not to splashing triples, Little can create off the dribble for himself and teammates. Little is averaging 12 points per contest this season which is more than double his output from 2022-23. Recently he posted a 30-point game vs. Constitution in which he drained 4 threes. Little also notched a 19-point game vs. John Bartram and two 18-point games this season. &nbsp;</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#241…</em></strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2328843' first='Dallas' last='Thompson'] </strong><strong>– 5'10” / Chester / Cecil Strive Elite / Point Guard: </strong>Chester is out to a 15-1 start this season and the rock steady play of this floor general is a major reason for that success. Thompson is a fast and shifty athlete with elusive dribbles. That trifecta enables Thompson to thrive in transition and score off the dribble in the half-court. Thompson has also been known to hit NBA distance 3-balls. Earlier this season he narrowly missed a double-double vs. Constitution -- 16 points (3 triples) and 9 rebounds. Thompson also posted 16 points (2 threes) against Academy Park.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#250…</em></strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2255163' first='Ben' last='Malley'] </strong><strong>– 6'0” / WC Bayard Rustin / Phill Pride Select / Combo Guard: </strong>Malley is a multi-skilled guard who simply destroys opponents with his ability to create off the dribble. He can use his creative handles to get to the rim or to his mid-range pull-up spots. As a facilitator, he attacks the paint and then will kick out to open shooters or drop a pass to a teammate in the dunker spot. This season Malley impressed with 27 points (3 threes), 8 rebounds and 7 dimes in win over Bensalem. His 22-point (3 triples) effort in a win over Avon Grove turned heads as well. For the season Malley is averaging 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists per game.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong><em>#260…</em></strong><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2328844' first='Rashaan' last='Murphy'] </strong><strong>– 6'3” / Simon Gratz / Wing:</strong> Murphy grabbed our attention earlier this season when he exploded for 28 points in Gratz's victory over Germantown Friends. His 16-point effort against Frankford was impressive too. Murphy (11 ppg.) is an athletic prospect with speed and hops. He thrives in the open court as a ball handler or as a wing filling a lane. In the half-court, Murphy generates points with his mid-range game and drives to the cup. At the other end of the court, Murphy generates steals and deflections that lead to easy baskets.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
