Expert Analysis
Cameron Rivers | Prep Hoops Scout
Reyes is a pure scorer who can get hot in an instant. He’s got deep range, a smooth mid-range game, and the strength to finish through contact at the rim. His quick first step makes him tough to stay in front of, and when defenses collapse on him, he’s more than capable of making the right pass. While his offense is his biggest weapon, Reyes also competes on defense and plays with an edge. If Garner needs a bucket late in the game, Reyes is the guy they’ll turn to.

Reyes is another combo guard prospect who continues to climb up the 2025 rankings in the latest update. He’s quite the DII/DIII prospect to get on the radar given his ability to defend with purpose and energy as well as attacking off the bounce. He’s got an ability to control the pace and take over games with relative ease that can’t be taught. He’s due to lead Garner High to a deep run in the NCHSAA State Playoffs in his senior season.

Reyes was impressive at the lead guard spot for Garner High as he set quite the tone for those around him to follow. He finished with 14 points, four assists, four rebounds and three steals in leading the way for the Trojans. He did well in defending with purpose and turned turnovers into points with ease as the game progressed. DII programs would be wise to track him over the next few months.

Reyes continues to show his growth at the lead guard spot for Garner Road . He impressed with 25 points on an efficient 8-for-10 shooting from the field in a win over Wiz Kids this past weekend then followed that performance up with a 17-point, 4-rebound, 3-assist performance against Brookwood Elite. He’s a backcourt presence who’s putting college programs on notice with his ability to make things happen in space.

Reyes finally makes his debut in the 2025 rankings following another productive year with Garner High. He was their unsung leader on the hardwood this season with his ability to attack off the dribble and score tough buckets in the painted area. When he’s locked in and in rhythm, he’s shown he can knock down shots in a variety of ways. He debuts at No. 84 as a prospect for DII programs in the region to get eyes on.

Reyes was huge for Garner in a big time televised win over Clayton on Friday, scoring 19 points and racking up POTG honors. He also had 15 pts, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists in a win over Willow Spring last week as well. He’s a slithery finisher who can weave through traffic and break down defenders in order to get to the cup, and looks fluid while doing so. Also a competent shooter on the move and off the dribble that can make big shots when his team needs it.
