The 6-foot-5 wing took what the defense gave him. He didn't settle for all jump shots. If the lane was open, Alston drove into it. Once Bartlett built a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter, senior point guard Kody Hickerson found Alston in transition for the alley-oop slam to ignite the crowd.

It was one of those nights for Alston.

”A little bit,” Alston when he was asked whether or not he was feeling it offensively on a night he led the Panthers with 31 points. “At the end, they were just overplaying me for my shots, so I just started getting to the rack and getting to the line.”

Alston went a perfect 7 for 7 from the free throw line. Senior forward R'Chaun King finished with 14 points and went 6 for 7 from the charity stripe.
