This game was an absolute slugfest that just got more physical as the game went on. Nevertheless, it was great basketball to watch and an incredible game on both sides.
Josiah Mitchell Josiah Mitchell 6'0" | SF Eldorado | 2024 State NM was an absolute force on both sides of the ball, showcasing his freak athleticism and ability to score from within the perimeter. His 17 points were the most in the game.
Josh Jackson Josh Jackson 6'5" | PF Eldorado | 2024 State NM started the game strong offensively, knocking down 4 straight mid-range shots in the first quarter. Due to foul trouble, he barely played in the second half, but his first half was cause for attention, getting 6 of his 7 rebounds before halftime.
Vincent James Vincent James 6'1" | SF Eldorado | 2024 State NM and Gabriel Freeman were able to kickstart the offense when stagnant, leading the team in assists with 4 and 3, respectively. James was also able to utilize his length and vertical ability to provide support on the defensive end.
Carlsbad played very well but missed many opportunities to score around the basket late in the game. Shane Sullivan was an offensive force in the second half, knocking down 3 threes and hitting 2 clutch layups in crunch time. He also led the Cavemen in rebounds with 6.
Kyran Orgain held down Carlsbad defensively, leading the game with 4 steals and being an absolute menace with his on-ball pressure, and adding 10 points onto his stat line, mainly from fast break layups created by his defensive effort.
