I was at Mesa HS for the Fear the Hop tournament on Wednesday, The Valley Christian Tournament at Seton Catholic, Welcome to the Jungle at Gilbert HS on Friday and lastly I attended the The LV8 Invitational at Chandler-Gilbert CC on Saturday.

Here are some of the top shooters I viewed:

[player_tooltip player_id='2280869' first='Layfe' last='Clarkson'] ALA Queen Creek

A good sized scoring guard is a catch three point sniper. He has good form and gets squared quickly and lets it fly. He has good instincts on defense and will give hard ball fakes and then dribble drive into a runner or floater. He scored 43 points on 9 of 12 from the 3pt line!

[player_tooltip player_id='1306005' first='Cameron' last='Kroeger'] Catalina Foothills

A scoring guard is a known sharp shooter. There are not many better catch three point shooters in the state then Kroeger. He will collect many steals in the passing lanes and move the ball for quality shots.

[player_tooltip player_id='996175' first='Barron' last='Silsby'] Perry

A deadeye marksmen from the three point line off the catch. He gives hard ball fakes into side step threes. He is driving it more to the basket and can hit the mid-range pull-up. He is a good passer with a big IQ who understands the game. He showed good on-ball defense on the opposing quick guards.

[player_tooltip player_id='1366379' first='Christian' last='Wells'] Pinnacle

A catch three point shooter with a quick release and confidence. He will rattle in triples when left open. He moves without the ball smartly and made a couple clutch shots down the stretch. After I typed this up, he recently hit a game winning three in the corner versus Desert Mountain.

[player_tooltip player_id='1275632' first='Lex' last='Clontz'] Cesar Chavez

One of the top players on the list is a catch and shoot three point sniper. He can create his own offense with hesitation drive and is a good passer. When his feet are set and he has any space, he is knocking them down.

[player_tooltip player_id='2280587' first='Seth' last='Bohon'] Shadow Ridge

An undersized scoring guard is a knockdown catch three point shooter. He has some quickness to give a hard ball fake and dribble drive to the basket with a burst. He is in constant motion to free himself up to shoot it.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249612' first='Cody' last='Haught'] ALA West Foothills

An undersized combo guard who can catch and shoot from the three point line with real range and a quick trigger. He is a sneaky good passer and can make plays with his left or right hand. He is also a quick on-ball defender.

[player_tooltip player_id='1193881' first='Nic' last='Corbo'] Chaparral

A combo guard is a lefty who has a clip with confidence. He shoots it well from the three point line but will rise up off the dribble and shoot it from mid-range. He hesitates and changes speeds smartly to get the defense off balance.

[player_tooltip player_id='2275986' first='KJ' last='Fauske'] Seton Catholic

A deep three point catch shooter with range and a quick trigger. He smartly changes speeds to free himself off of his defender. He moves the ball unselfishly with a high IQ for the game. He hit six threes in the semis and seven in the finals.

[player_tooltip player_id='1698918' first='Blake' last='Colvin'] Sandra Day O'Connor

One of the top shooters on the team is Colvin. When he spaces the floor and shoots the three off the catch, it allows their bigger forwards room to work inside. He is a smart passer and plays very unselfishly.

[player_tooltip player_id='1598395' first='David' last='Leszczynski'] Paradise Honors

Playing alongside Harris, David is a knockdown shooter who is crafty and smart. He will help on defense with block shots and rebound. He is a sneaky good passer and he may end up being second on their team in assists and points with his pretty stroke from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1128217' first='JJ' last='Martin'] Sunrise Mountain

A scoring guard is a catch three point sniper in the corners as he squares up quickly like you should. He is a sneaky good passer down the court who is deceptively quick to get downhill. The shooter seemed to not miss on this night.

[player_tooltip player_id='1491231' first='Sabih' last='Almasri'] Central

A catch three point shooter can rattle in triples when left open. He runs the court for transition baskets and is ready to shoot it off of Graves IV passes.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601785' first='Leyton' last='Steenhard'] Queen Creek

A true combo guard who can score and make plays. He will catch and shoot from the three and euro step into the lane with runners. He often drives and kicks it to his teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='2249642' first='Travon' last='Howard'] ALA West Foothills (Pictured)

A bigger guard can hit the catch three in rhythm. He can get hot quickly and shoots it over the top of the defenders. He hit four deep ones versus the host team Seton Catholic. He drives and kicks it well to his teammates and can score it a little around the basket in the paint.
