Da Matchup Showcase Eye Openers

<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Over the weekend, C.O.E Films and the BM Sports Report did an excellent job of putting on the Da Matchup Showcase in Maumelle. Numerous powerhouse programs from around the state of Arkansas competing in the showcase. We are going to highlight several prospects that opened plenty of eyes in the Da Matchup.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2223809' first='Jamal' last='Holden']-Small Forward-Conway-6'6”-2027</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Conway forward was active on both ends of the court in the matchup against Marianna. Holden is not afraid to get in the paint and battle for boards. He is a player that can finish above the rim often and is a player that must be accounted for on the court. Holden can hit from just about anywhere on the court and he tends to heat up quickly. He posted 12 points, 7 rebounds, 1 block, and 1 assist on the night. Holden can fill up the stat sheet quickly and is a player to watch out for this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2021880' first='JJ' last='Andrews']-Scoring Guard-Little Rock Christian-6'5” 2026</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Little Rock Christian-Springdale matchup featured plenty of star-power in the Da Matchup. Little Rock Christian guard [player_tooltip player_id='2021880' first='JJ' last='Andrews'] got off to an impressive start of the 2023 season in the Da Matchup Showcase. Andrews racked up 19 points, 9 rebounds, and 2 steals against Springdale in the showcase. Andrews has the range to cause problems for opposing defenses. Andrews can hit the deep ball or drive the ball to the basket. Andrews is a player to watch out for over the next couple of seasons, he has an extremely high ceiling.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='2481844' first='Markalon' last='Rochell']-Small Forward-Maumelle-6'5” 2025</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>[player_tooltip player_id='2481844' first='Markalon' last='Rochell'] is a forward that does not mind doing the dirty work in the paint. He does a great job of outworking people for the rebound. On the offensive end, Rochell can and will finish above the rim. He is a player that does a good job of shooting the basketball and has a smooth stroke. Rochell posted 22 points, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals in the Da Matchup Showcase this weekend. Rochell is a player to watch over the next season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1997497' first='Layne' last='Taylor']-Point Guard-Farmington-5'11” 2024</strong></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Farmington point guard can hurt you shooting the basketball or dishing the ball off to his teammates. [player_tooltip player_id='1997497' first='Layne' last='Taylor'] opened plenty of eyes in Maumelle this weekend. Taylor racked up 41 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal, and 1 block over the weekend. He put his smooth jump shot and ability to drive the lane on display this weekend. The future North Texas point guard is off to an excellent start to the season and the Farmington Cardinals are a team to watch out for this season.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph -->
