On Thursday November 16th I attended the 4A matchup of the Flagstaff Eagles at the 4A Seton Catholic Sentinels.

The Sentinela got hot early and poured it on early for a 46-13 halftime lead. Padilla was literally on fire with 24 points in the half.

Flag made a little run to start the 3rd but it was too insurmountable. Seton ended up winning 86-46.

Here were some of the standouts of the varsity game:

[player_tooltip player_id='1986868' first='Luke' last='Padilla'] Seton Catholic (Pictured left)

A scoring lead guard will drive and kick it and make passes up the court but he is trying to score it. He can blow by with right hand in traffic and although he is a little undersized, he handles contact well. He can hit the catch three with a quicker release and pull-up off the dribble from both levels. He has good body control in the air and couldn't of played a better 1st half with 24 big points.

[player_tooltip player_id='1986869' first='Julian' last='Garcia'] Seton Catholic (Pictured right)

A strong framed scoring guard plays and defends multiple positions. He actually jumped center for their undersized team. He can score with quick rip thrus and take the ball coast to coast after he grabs a rebound. He is an unusually good rebounder for his size using a quick second jump. He has an easy touch on his free throws and can drain some threes. He also has sneaky fast open court speed.

Gio Barone SG/SF 6'0 2024 Seton Catholic

A high IQ guard/wing with skill. He moves without the ball and he can catch and shoot from the three point line with a quick trigger. He gives the team some space to work with and plays fundamentally sound on defense.

[player_tooltip player_id='2275986' first='KJ' last='Fauske'] Seton Catholic

An undersized shooting guard is the teams top marksmen. He can catch and shoot from the three off the catch with the best of them. When he is open from deep; mark it down. He uses a quick release and stays in motion to free himself to find open spots in the defense. When their big group of seniors graduate, KJ will breakout.

[player_tooltip player_id='1834154' first='Brock' last='Steele'] Seton Catholic

A wing forward with a high motor. He grabs offensive rebounds in bunches and will score on put backs. He always seems to be around the ball and has some springs and upper body strength to utilize. He will give hard ball fakes in the paint and go up to score. He also hit a three in rhythm showing his skill development.

Angel Guerrero PG 5'10 2025 Flagstaff

A strong framed point guard runs the teams offense. He is a good passer and takes care of the ball. He uses a burst and his sturdy frame to get into the paint to score. He uses ball fakes well and will stay in front of his opponents on defense.

Connor O'Brien-Piubeni SF 6'3 2024 Flagstaff

A long wing can dribble drive to the basket. He attempts many off balanced shots in heavy traffic and cashes in. He can hit the three when left open and is a very good passer. On defense he rebounds and has quick hands to play the passing lanes.

Camden Hagerman SF 6'2 2024 Flagstaff

An undersized wing forward is an efficient scorer around the basket. He is a plus rebounder and blocks shots in his area. Once he grabs an offensive rebound he will go up and score it.

[player_tooltip player_id='1306044' first='Jake' last='Centner'] Flagstaff

A long and lean wing forward had a good night despite the loss. He is a very good rebounder in and out of his area and a good passer who plays like a point forward. He scores it from all levels with dribble drives, catch threes, footwork down low in the post and he showed off his bounce on the break with an impressive and-1 poster dunk. He will block shots off the glass and leads the Eagles.
