Jay Anderson | Prep Hoops Scout
Smith is another versatile presence in the 2027 rankings as he checks in at the No. 1 small forward/wing spot out of Cox Mill High. His length and frame allow him to operate with ease at getting downhill and finishing at his spots in the painted area and around the rim. He led the Chargers with 20.2 points, 4.1 rebounds and 1.5 assists per game in his sophomore campaign. He’s a key piece in the Team CP3 rotation to keep an eye on this grassroots cycle.

Smith is probably the biggest riser in the latest rankings update as he moves from 39th into the 9th spot. He’s a strong-framed guard/wing prospect who’s shown he can make things happen in a variety of ways with and without the ball in his hands. He’s a prospect due for a boost in his recruitment very soon as he continues to show off his growth and development.

Smith makes his debut in the 2027 rankings at No. 39 out of Cox Mill but don’t expect him to stay at 39 for too long, given his upside. He’ll be one to keep an eye on with Team CP3 on the EYBL stage this cycle after putting up 13.0 PPG, 4.0 RPG, 2.0 APG and 1.3 SPG in his varsity debut. He showed he could be a presence on both ends of the floor while finishing second on the team in scoring and second in rebounding. He’s a strong-framed wing/guard at 6-foot-3 in the class with a bright future ahead of him.

Smith has been a big factor in Cox Mill’s ability to stay competitive even with losing some of their top talent over the offseason. He is averaging 13.9 PPG and 4.5 RPG as a long, athletic wing with a great physical frame for only a freshman. He’s done really well attacking the rim with a head of steam and also getting out in transition. He’s a name to watch in the 2027 class who could be a D1 player.
