Stanfield’s best moments on Sunday came in the morning games where the 6-foot-6 wing displayed his ability to score from all three levels. In this sort of event where the opposing defense isn’t exactly operating on the string, Stanfield’s willingness as an off-ball mover is the catalyst for getting him open looks at the basket. He can attack wild closeouts with a long first step before getting into his pull-up with balance or use those long strides to get to the rim through traffic. He operates well in the mid-post where he can face up and attack his matchup off 1-to-2 dribbles or with enough space, can rise over the top and knock down shots. The other aspect of Stanfield’s game that doesn’t waver is his motor. He’s going to run the floor with consistency and purpose, be in the mix for 50/50s, and make multiple efforts on the defensive end. He was voted into the top-30 Cream of the Crop game due to his production throughout the weekend.
