His presence to score off the catch has continued to improve as well as he looks to become a viable scoring threat this upcoming season. His effectiveness on the defensive side also stood out as he was deflecting passes as well as blocking shots off the backboard limiting the opposition from getting second chances. His rebounding mechanics have also come a long way as he gained muscle during the summer where he showed his strength when he has the basketball in his hands. On the offensive end, Thompson was explosive scoring off of dribble-drives where he had a couple dunks at the front of the rim. He was also very effective in the pick-and-roll offense where his footwork has continued to improve. On the defensive end, Thompson was very versatile where he can guard multiple positions as well as use his length to an advantage.
