The Midwest Stars Midwest Stars 5'11" | SG IN had a very good weekend going 3-1 at the Havoc in the Heartland while playing some of the best competition in the event. Their ability to shoot the basketball gives them a chance every time out and Simpson was a big part of that success from beyond the arc. We watched him drill a couple of three-point shots on Friday night and then he came up with a few big ones on Sunday as well in their victory over EG10 .

You can tell that this 6’0″ prospect out of Greensburg High School is a coach’s son. His basketball IQ shined throughout the Prep Hoops Indiana Sophomore ID Camp, but his skill was certainly impressive as well. His shooting stroke was very pure and repeatable as he knocked down a corner three-point shot during 5-on-5 action. Look for Simpson to start factoring into the equation at Greensburg sooner rather than later with his perimeter skill level.

There weren’t many prospects at the Prep Hoops Indiana Freshman Showcase that displayed a better intermediate range game than this Greensburg High School product. Simpson finished floater after floater showing off a soft touch at the end of his drives to the basket. The use of the floater allowed him to consistently score over larger defenders. He also flashed some good court vision and passing ability when he was scoring on his own. It was an impressive offensive showing for the 5’11” guard.
