When you spend an entire spring and summer scouting players from all over the Midwest. At the end of it all. Sometimes you feel like there is nothing you have not seen before. Fortunately the Ferris St Elite camp produced a batch a new faces that caught my eye. Following are five that stood out

Layton Krohn 6-4 2024 Elkton Pigeon Laker No other say it. The Thumb region is not known for producing a bevy of next level prospects. That has changed in the last few years. With Mr Basketball recently coming from the region. While Krohn is not in that rarefied air as a prospect. He showed plenty of potential on Sunday. For starters he is a legit 6-4 with the skill set to play the point. Has the size to easily shoot over the defenders. Along with the ability to penetrate to the basket. Could be a sleeper from an under recruited region.

[player_tooltip player_id='2252613' first='Bryce' last='Broekhuizen'] 6-7 2024 Kalamazoo Christian From one of prominent Division III programs of the 90's. It feels like it's been a bit since this program has produced a college prospect. Broekhuizen could change that. Not an overly explosive athlete. However showed plenty mobility and light feet for a player with a sturdy thick frame. Was a good shooter with the ability to stretch the floor. Competed hard defensively and did not appear to shy away from contact. With a big senior season. Could become an intriguing small college post recruit.

[player_tooltip player_id='2423989' first='Landon' last='Storms'] 6-2 2025 East Kentwood Plays at one of the largest high schools in the entire state. Additionally the Falcons have an extremely deep backcourt rotation. While Storms did make the varsity squad last year. He did not get a lot of run. At least in the games I attended. Making his weekend performances (he's also played at Grand Valley) all the more important. Lanky and bouncy prospect who showed the ability to easily play above the rim. Put down a few impressive dunks out in transition. Long arms make him a factor on the defensive end. If he continues to play like he did this weekend. Could play a larger role for one the high profile programs in the state.

[player_tooltip player_id='2077522' first='Brendan' last='Nesbary'] 6-4 2024 Wyoming Not a completely fresh face for me. I watched Nesbary play well in Chicago just a few weekends ago. However took it to the next level on Sunday. Has a thick but very athletic frame. Sought out contact and pinned defenders deep on the block. Once there showed quick elevation and a soft touch around the basket. Is also an aggressive rebounder and defender. Wyoming brought a deep rotation of backcourt prospects to Ferris (see below) Nesbary should play an integral role for the Wolves as their main post weapon. Could put up big numbers in that role. Coming off a good grassroots campaign with BNB Basketball on the Prep Hoops Circuit.

Brayden Williams 5-11 2027 Wyoming From the present of the Wyoming program to the future. Nothing about Williams' game said Freshmen. Played with maturity and a no nonsense approach. Has plenty of size already for a point guard prospect. With his advanced skill set. Even if he were to grow a bit. I don't see him moving off the point guard position long term. With Wolves deep backcourt rotation might have it learn to play off the ball to earn time. That will only help his development as a prospect. Definitely a player to keep an eye on in the 2027 class.
