Ahmi was a game-changer this weekend because of the way he controlled the paint with his length, activity, and toughness. Spears protected the rim, altered shots around the basket, and was outstanding on the glass all weekend long. He consistently high-pointed rebounds, attacked the ball aggressively, and was especially effective at creating extra possessions on the offensive boards. Offensively, Spears continued to show growth in his game. He finished efficiently inside, attacked closeouts well, and looked comfortable slashing to the rim. His offensive skill set seems to improve every weekend, and the confidence is clearly growing. First thing that stands out with Ahmi is his size and length. He didn’t see a ton of varsity minutes for the State Champion Patriots, but the tools are there for him to make a name for himself in a hurry. He’s expected to step into a much bigger role next winter, but in the meantime, PHD is eager to see him break out on the club circuit with ND Phenom . Spears is an intriguing prospect—he’s a mobile defender who runs the floor effortlessly, protects the rim, and rebounds at a high level. Offensively, he can space the floor and knock down the three, giving him valuable versatility.
