The forward group in Bergen County has a chance to make an impact at the next level and will be ones to watch this season. Here are the 2024 forwards to watch in Bergen County.
Sam Tornabene Sam Tornabene 6'6" | SF St. Mary's Rutherford | 2024 State NJ , 6’6 F St. Mary’s Rutherford
Tornabene has the potential to make noise this season as he can play multiple frontcourt spots. The 6’6 forward can put the ball on the floor and finishes nicely around the basket. Tornabene has a nice release on his jumper and can knock down open jumpers on the perimeter. He is a strong rebounder and holds his ground on the defensive end. Tornabene’s ability to score the ball around the basket is something that will help his game in a big way this season.
Will Mensah Will Mensah 6'6" | PF Don Bosco Prep | 2024 State NJ , 6’6 PF Don Bosco Prep
Mensah is poised to get more touches down low, which should help his stock this season. The lanky 6’6 forward runs the floor hard, setting himself up for easy dunks and layups in transition. Mensah elevates for dunks and sets good screens in the halfcourt. He skies for dunks on both ends of the floor and influences shots around the rim. Mensah is an athletic forward prospect who should make plays at both ends of the floor for the Ironmen.
Max Neirenberg Max Neirenberg 6'5" | SF Ramsey | 2024 State NJ , 6’5 SF Ramsey
Neirenberg is a wing prospect to watch in Bergen County as he can do different things on the offensive end. The 6’5 wing has a good handle, which he uses to get to the rim and can finish through traffic. Neirenberg wastes little motion in his jumper and sets his feet before he shoots. He has the length to defend multiple positions on the floor and is an underrated rebounder. Neirenberg’s ability to score inside and out is something that will help his stock in a big way.
Victor Torres Victor Torres 6'7" | PF St. Mary's Rutherford | 2024 State NJ , 6’7 PF St. Mary’s Rutherford
Torres has the potential to have a breakout 2023-24 season with his ability to control the paint. The 6’7 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to get position down low and finish around the basket. Torres dives hard to the basket and moves well without the ball in his hands. He is tough to box out on both ends of the floor and uses timing to block shots in the paint. Torres is a strong forward prospect who will be one to watch this season.
Anthony Pizzuti Anthony Pizzuti 6'3" | SF Lyndhurst | 2024 State NJ , 6’3 SF Lyndhurst
Pizzuti had a monster junior campaign and is looking to carry it over into 2023-24. The 6’3 wing finishes nicely around the basket and is unafraid of drawing contact. Pizzuti has a solid handle and can also score in the mid-range. He works hard on the glass at both ends of the floor and makes plays on the defensive end. Pizzuti had 14 20-point games last season, including a 53-point outburst, and is looking to increase those numbers this season.
