-What this southpaw lacks in explosiveness off the floor he makes up for with finishing craft around the basket with hooks, step throughs, drop steps, and spin moves. Reads the defense well whether he is facing up or backing his man down, utilizing his pivot and a series of moves to create enough to score at an efficient clip. Knocked down the only elbow jumper that I saw him take and served as a high-level passer out of the high post. Summers understands the timing for his screens and movement on and off the ball, allowing his point guard to process the floor with enough space to operate before getting the two man game going.

A common name from these summer events, Summers is a smooth scorer in the paint, capable of controlling the paint from his presence alone. His size advantage provides an obvious advantage against the vast majority of these frontcourt opponents, adept at creating space to score in his spots. Elite pivoting into attempts for ambidextrous finishes, he has a diverse portfolio getting into finishes around ther rim. There is no mystery as to why the forward has been garnering interest from the D1 and D2 levels, simply too productive at these events.

About as dominant as any frontcourt name from this event, Summers’ sheer size and skill are about as difficult to overcome as anyone at this event. Effective playing off of contact for spins and pivots, he was effective getting to his spots in the halfcourt. Another area of intrigue was his facilitating once double teams or aggressive help arrived, active on kickout passes just in time.

Summers was a player that constantly got some good looks in the paint and was punishing his matchup throughout the tournament. He has some quick feet for his size and he was able to utilize some spin moves to get defenders off balance to get some finishes at the rim. He has the ability to step out behind the arc and knockdown the 3 ball as well. He does not force shots and has the passing ability to thread the needle and hit open teammates. He would get my vote for second in the MVP voting with what he was able to do on both days.

is a one man wrecking crew in the paint. You almost have to double-team him as soon as he touches the ball, otherwise he’s just too strong for most high school defenders to contain. He’s not just a powerful big man though, he has good feet at his size with the agility to get around defenders rather than relying on his strength to go through them. At 6’8 he has excellent touch around the rim and was able to score with efficiency when I watched him play on Sunday afternoon.

Summers is a kid that catches your eye when he walks in the gym just based on his size. His game play reminds me of Jokic the way he is able to do everything on the court. He has good handles for his size being able to bring the ball up on the break. He also has good vision and will drop a dime in transition as well. What impressed the most is his ability to step outside and knock down the three ball. On the defensive side he was a force making it difficult to score on the inside and was constantly getting blocks or altering shots. He was teamed with
