The Uncommon Exposure Camp invaded Shreveport yesterday with a number of preps from here and the surrounding area trying to gain exposure through their play. Coach Vanlandingham and his hellacious college style workout gave the players a true view of how college practices can be. Through the five hour day, there were standout players who really elevated their play. We will look at several players who performed well at the Uncommon camp at LSUS.

[player_tooltip player_id='1560439' first='Konnor' last='Cotton'] (6'2" | 2024 | Calvary Baptist)

Cotton was the best player at the camp yesterday. He elevated his shooting nailing three pointers in every drill at a high rate. Cotton also showed that he could put the ball on the deck and get to the rim as well. His play showed that he can be a three and D player at the next level.

[player_tooltip player_id='1476124' first='Karson' last='Mabou'] (5'10" | 2024 | Buckeye)

In reference to competing in every drill, Mabou displayed a high level of heart and effort during every one. His shot from three was very consistent and he made them regularly. I think some of the players underestimated his handling ability. However, being a point guard, he used an in-and-out dribble that allowed him to get to the rim and past defenders. He is one of the players who will be on the rise in Louisiana.

[player_tooltip player_id='1601906' first='Jayden' last='Jackson'] (5'10" | 2025 | West Monroe)

Jackson was a point guard bully during his time at the Uncommon Exposure camp. He often backed down guards who did not possess the strength he had. He also used his handle to get past defenders as well. Jackson is a point guard who has a ton of tools that were on full display at LSUS.

[player_tooltip player_id='1699870' first='E'Joshua' last='McDonald'] (6'2" | 2024 | Captain Shreve)

McDonald is another guard/wing who made an impression at LSUS. He is another player who displayed the ability to make the three ball. McDonald was also one of the better defenders on the day as he defended both guard positions. He is another three and D guard who can be a difference maker on the floor as he showed on Wednesday.

Blaine Parish (6'6" | 2024 | Buckeye)

No post player at the camp displayed the variety in his game as Parish did. Parish can play on both sides of the ball. He displayed the ability to protect the rim on defense and stretch the floor on offense. He also moves on the perimeter better than average post players. Parish can stretch the floor and score in the post which is what schools on the next level want. This cap allowed him to display that.

Mark Green (6'2" | 2023 | Little Rock Central)

Green is a three and D guard who is still looking for a school that will cultivate his skills. He showed good touch from the outside and was very good at making the mid-range jumper. His defense on the perimeter was very good and he made it tough for guards to score in the paint. His play at LSUS showed that he can play the game.

The Uncommon Exposure camp has helped many players reach the next level and be contributors at the D3, D2, and JUCO schools. It may be unconventional. However, this camp helps to make players better with giving them a glimpse at what college can be like.
