<p>Now that the grassroots season has come to a close (well, for the majority of teams), much of the news circulating has to do with recruiting. With that being the case, this update article with revolve around rising seniors making commitments and cutting their lists.</p>   <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Farrell commits to the A-10</strong></p>   <p>The No. 10 prospect in our 2024 MD/DC Player Rankings, [player_tooltip player_id='1280947' first='Tyonne' last='Farrell'], announced his commitment to Rhode Island, which marked as assistant coach Kenny Johnson's second pledge from a DMV prospect in month's timespan. Farrell spent the month of July taking advantage of the June scholastic live period weekends averaging over 20 points per game. The 6-foot-6 combo forward brings the necessary physicality, versatility and budding skillset that should result in a productive college career.</p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/tyonnefarrell/status/1681109385353781248?s=20 </div></figure>   <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Diggs cuts his list</strong></p>   <p>Another top-10 prospect that made the news cycle having to due with his recruitment is Bullis/New World wing [player_tooltip player_id='1164818' first='Caden' last='Diggs'] cut his list to six schools consisting of George Washington, Iowa, Old Dominion, Oklahoma State, Richmond and Seton Hall. If I had to make my guess, I'd say that Iowa is the leader in this race. Not only has Diggs already taken an official visit there, but head coach Fran McCaffrey has been a common face courtside whenever Diggs takes the floor. Diggs has not yet came out with an announcement date, so anything is possible, but I like the Hawkeyes' chances in this one. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/247HSHoops/status/1682527955942088704?s=20 </div></figure>   <p class="has-medium-font-size"><strong>Top PG in MD/DC 2024 cuts his list</strong></p>   <p>Another Bullis prospect is narrowing down his list as point guard [player_tooltip player_id='1225255' first='Tyler' last='Boston'] will move forward with the following: Fairfield, Fordham, Holy Cross, North Texas, Penn and UNC-Greensboro. Boston was another DMV prospect who shined throughout the month of June with his ability to control the game from the point guard position. In just the last 2-3 weeks, three of the area's highly-touted prospects will spend their high school seasons elsewhere. 2024 [player_tooltip player_id='1089572' first='Daquan' last='Davis'] will attend Overtime Elite just a few months after helping St. John's (DC) to the WCAC title. Davis, a Providence commit, will keep his college eligibility while attending Overtime Elite, despite some speculation. </p>   <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> https://twitter.com/OvertimeElite/status/1679213664174239745?s=20 </div></figure>   <p>One of the top 2026 prospects in the DMV, [player_tooltip player_id='1782695' first='Adam' last='Oumiddoch'], will join Davis in Atlanta to attend Overtime Elite. The 6-foot-5 rising sophomore has built a reputation as being one of the most skilled, fluid scorers you'll find in his class. The 6-foot-2 southpaw is a sniper from deep who has continued to round out his overall game off the dribble as a primary playmaker. Bishop McNamara was primed to make a strong run in the WCAC with Somerville leading the way.
