Expert Analysis
Devontae Cobb | Prep Hoops Scout
Fleming played with elite ball control, keeping the ball on a string and facilitating as a dynamic playmaker off a live dribble. He set guys up with poise and purpose, drawing defensive attention before making swift kick-outs within the flow of things. Fleming operated out of pick-and-roll or pop actions with patience, surveying taggers and drop coverage before making calculated reads. He showed good pop in his handle, pounding the rock with between-the-legs combos and misdirection moves to create space. Once he got a defender on his hip, he was comfortable stopping on a dime for pull-ups against momentum. Whether off the catch or the bounce, his shooting touch was soft and consistent. Fleming also displayed strong clock awareness, optimizing possessions and squeezing value out of every second.

Fleming is the definition of a true point guard, a coach on the floor who organizes, anticipates, and controls tempo. His defensive intensity sets the tone for Coppell, as he pressures the ball, navigates screens, and disrupts rhythm without gambling. Offensively, he sees the floor exceptionally well, understands passing angles, and delivers teammates into scoring spots. And while he’s a pass-first guard by nature, he can get his own bucket at any time. Fleming is powerful to the rim, shoots it well enough to keep defenses honest, and is at his best pushing transition, turning stops into quick points with sharp decisions or strong finishes. He’s an aggressive, competitive guard who will add immediate value to the right college program.

Isaiah is an offensive force and an absolute nightmare to deal with for his defenders. He somehow manages to always operate at full speed without any inkling of chaos or recklessness – I’m not sure exactly how he does it. Fleming is a quick, smart guard that can change the game quickly with his energy and hustle. He combines his electric speed with an impressive vertical that he uses to fly to the rim and establish himself as a shot-blocking point man. His ballhandling is elite and he can break ankles with the best of them. The way he handles reminds me a bit of Steph. I love the fearlessness that Fleming plays with. He often will hurl his body through the air on the way to the rim and either get the bucket, get the foul, or finish through contact – all wins. I’m excited to see what Fleming does next season and I bet he’ll be popping up on more and more folks’ radars.
