Prep Hoops Missouri spent its Saturday afternoon at Edwardsville High (IL) in metro east St. Louis to watch the action at the Edwardsville Live Showcase, which was a NCAA-sanctioned event. Here is a look at some new names of players who caught our eye at this event.

Dwayne Foley (Ladue): A 6'1" 2024 guard who has elite athleticism and he also plays with a high motor at both ends of the court. He is an excellent slashing threat on offense and he rebounds the ball well as he can outjump taller defenders for the ball. He is an active defender who can guard the ball and also play the passing lanes very well. He is also a good passer off his dribble penetration. He was a big part of Ladue's run to the Class 5 state championship game last season.

******

Justin Hatten (McCluer North): A 6'0" 2024 point guard who had an excellent performance in the Stars' victory over El Paso (IL) on Saturday afternoon. He was difficult to keep out of the lane with his speed and electric first step to the basket. He had a nice sequence when he scored on four consecutive possessions, which included three layups after breaking down defenders and a pull-up jumper from the mid-range. He also knocked down a pair of 3-pointers in the second half.

******

Haydan Arnold (Ladue): A 6'3" 2025 wing who displayed some deep shooting range in the Rams' victory over Mount Vernon (IL). He drained a couple of shots from well beyond the 3-point and line and he did it with full confidence. He has a solid body and good athleticism, which enables him to attack the basket and score in traffic. He threw down some impressive dunks. He also moves well with solid cuts off the ball. He was always sprinting when he made his cuts.

******

Cameron Ivy (Confluence Academy): A 5'11" 2024 point guard who was one of the most impressive defensive players that I watched during the day. His on-ball defense was relentless as he used his quickness and tenacity to harass opposing ball handlers all over the court. He also used his quick hands to hawk the ball and pick pockets in the open court. He was very good in the open court in a fast paced game.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2090504' first='Ben' last='Karsten'] (Vianney): A 6'2" 2026 guard who comes from good bloodlines as his father, Joel Karsten was a former standout player at Lutheran South in the mid-1990's. Ben is an excellent shooter from 3-point range, but he also has good ball handling and playmaking skills. His overall floor game is very good as he can also deliver the pinpoint pass. He is also starting to put the ball on the floor and hit the mid-range jumper, which is a good compliment to his long distance shooting.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2352805' first='Quentin' last='Coleman'] (Principia): A 2026 point guard who has good quickness and the ability to create offense and get his own shot with his slick handles. He can change speeds and directions to elude defenders and create space to either get to the basket or pull up and hit the jumper. He can also hit the open 3-pointer and also slip a nice dime to an open teammate off his dribble penetration.

******

Gabe Weaver (MICDS): A 6'5" 2026 small forward who had an impressive stretch of play in the minutes that I watched him in the evening game. He hit nice 3-pointer from the corner and he also had a tough drive to the basket where he can cover ground with his long stride. He has good size and athleticism where he can also be a factor as a rebounder.

******

[player_tooltip player_id='2837283' first='Terriyon' last='Webster'] (McCluer North): A 6'2" 2027 guard who showed some promise as a young up and coming player for the Stars. He has good athleticism and he played with a lot of poise as he made some good passes and some nice drives through the lane. He also knocked down an open 3-pointer in the middle of a big second-half rally that broke the game open. He has a big upside and a bright future ahead of him.
