The PAISAA (or non-PIAA) schools from the area feature a ton of talent from the top boarding and academic schools in the state. They're all gathering at the Hun Schools with their NJ counterparts to showcase their abilities in front of college coaches. Here are some of the better-known players who already have some juice on the recruiting trail:

[player_tooltip player_id='991393' first='Brant' last='Byers'] | 6'8 F | Perkiomen School

After coming off the bench and being more of a role player on the 2023 PAISSA champ, Byers looks to show what he can do with a higher usage. The combo forward has an intriguing mix of perimeter and interior skills. The three ball is his calling card, able to hit spot-up jumpers at a high clip and shoot off some movement. Defensively, he excels as a weak-side shot-blocker who can occasionally play in space depending on the matchup.

[player_tooltip player_id='1173983' first='Amari' last='Dow'] | 6'2 G | Cristo Rey

Dow gives his team the best of both worlds when it comes to a smart, high-effort player who is also skilled. Never taking a play off, he's going to rebound, play in the passing lane on defense, and move without the ball on offense. Dow can (and will) also play with pace as a driver - willing to post up or play off of two feet - and make quick decisions. To make matters worse (for the defense), he shoots the lights out from deep.

[player_tooltip player_id='1589152' first='Macon' last='Emory'] | 6'8 W | Perkiomen School

Already racking up a ton MM offers. Emory is a dynamic dribble/pass/shoot wing. He maximizes his physical tools off-ball on offense by relocating or running off screens into threes and attacking closeouts to get to the cup or kick it to the next man. Those tools plus his fluidity make him a good rebounder and on-ball defender against bigger initiators because he can use his length to recover or contest.

[player_tooltip player_id='1279636' first='Bahsil' last='Laster'] | 6'5 G | Academy of the New Church (ANC)

The two-way guard is a weapon on the defensive end. His length and lateral mobility allow him to suffocate ball-handlers at the point-of-attack and create steals and blocks as a team defender. When Laster has the rock in his hands, he bends angles with his strides and scores with extension finishes. Additionally, his tools give him access to passing windows where he can zip the ball to teammates.

[player_tooltip player_id='1188249' first='Kevin' last='McCarthy'] | 6'3 G | Episcopal Academy

Whether he's coming off a pin down or running into a DHO, McCarthy is a player you can't let catch the ball in rhythm. He's a high volume shooter who made multiple threes in almost every game this season. Even if the pass isn't the best, he has the footwork and mechanics to still get off a clean shot.

[player_tooltip player_id='1477774' first='Malik' last='Rasul'] | 6'7 F | Westtown School

A complimentary forward, Rasul offers lineup flexibility with his skillset. He isn't afraid to mix it up in the paint and rebounds over bigger players. Thus, he makes a living on putbacks and duck-ins around the basket. But Rasul spaces the floor from three as well. If you try to run him off the line, he can pump-fake/side-step into a 1-dribble pull-up.

[player_tooltip player_id='991421' first='Ryan' last='Williams'] | 6'3 G | Malvern Prep

Williams is the epitome of a three-level scorer because of how surgical he is. As a primary initiator or a second-side creator, he's going to get to the spots that he likes. Go under on a ball-screen, he'll pull-up. Wall him off or bump him off his spot, he can counter with his floater or finish through contact. And, even though his facial expressions are hard to read, he competes just as hard on defense.

Next, we'll highlight some of the local 2024s who are set to heat up at the same event.
