High flying wing, who was a key part of Mount’s smothering defense. And also got loose in transition and around the rim for 14 points. Including a big time slam in the second half. Dubose is a prime example of the versatility given by the variety of MSM seniors including Young and Lyons, that makes them so good on defense. And dangerous on offense.

Dubose will most likely be the best athlete in the facility. As the explosive wing is capable of looking down into the rim when he skies for dunks, rebounds and blocks. That’s not hyperbole, that’s simply how explosive he is. Dunks, blocks and out rebounding opponents are given when the MSM wing steps onto the court. The question as he enters his senior year, is can Dubose add the shooting touch to become a true “3 and D” wing?

A high flying athlete, Dubose will be continuing his basketball education this year at MSM. Where he’ll still be tearing down rims and swatting shots. With the height he gets on jumps, Dubose seemingly can look down into the rim. And he even has a quick second jump, which helps him as an rebounder. There were signs this summer of a developing expanding skillset, and hopefully this winter will bring further strides.

It’s fitting that summer Olympics are happening because Dubose often looks like a high jumper or even a long jumper with the way he takes off and plays with his head around the rim. With his insane athletic ability, he’s an acrobatic finisher and rim protector. His feel for the game is still raw but he’s starting to develop more wing and general basketball feel. An example came on a rare occasion where he actually jumped from too far out even for him. But he hung in the air long enough to still make a pass to a teammate for an easy score. A big junior season could be on tap with Dubose at a new school, Mount Saint Mary.

has proven himself a true high flying dunker with the most effortless leaping ability I’ve seen on the circuit this spring. He puts on a show during warm-ups with his amazing slam dunking capabilities, showing an impressive skillset in the air as he’s capable of pulling off a multitude of electrifying dunks, from easy two-handed throw downs over his head, one hand tomahawk finishes, double fisted reverses where he brought the ball down to his midsection before flushing it, and even full 360 dunks, all ease and fluidity.

Bouncy and fearless, Dubose lives in the paint on both ends as a tenacious rebounder. He not only gets off the floor quick, he does it strongly. Which allows him to corral contested rebounds with ease. With basketball becoming more spread out, it does open more opportunity for high energy tweeners like the John Marshall prospect. But his shooting and touch around the rim must continue to improve for him to fully access his high ceiling athletic traits.

Dubose caught eyes in the 17U Division last month with the OKC Icons. He’s a raw prospect, but he’s springy around the rim. As evident by the way he attacks the offensive glass for put-back dunks. There’s big potential for Dubose to be a high flying finisher around the basket. While the upside is there for Dubose to be an intriguing prospect, further viewing is needed while playing for his high school. His current strengths of athleticism and energy are tailored made for the wide open nature of regional grassroots basketball, so it will be interesting to see how the rest of his game develops.
