With the departure of his brother, Kohl will be looked upon to step into a bigger role for the Tigers. He has a lot of experience under his belt and will need to use what he has learned throughout the years to be the team’s alpha leader. He is an excellent shooter from deep and competes at a high level. I am looking forward to seeing during his senior campaign if he will be able to create his own shot off the bounce as he, for some time, has been the benefactor of the playmaking abilities of his brother.

I have put ink on Rylan before, as he is a relentless competitor and an undersized frontcourt player in some people’s eyes. He provides a level of versatility for the Tigers that fits right into what they need as a unit. He is a high-energy rebounder, and offensively, he has the ability to set up teammates and make high-level passes to get teammates the rock where they can be successful. He plays with a lot of grit and will provide toughness for the Tigers.
Ty Odom Ty Odom 6'2" | SG Hartselle | 2025 State AL (6’2/CG/’25)
Ty is a player the Tigers will need to step up and provide a lot of production in the scoring column. He is an athletic guard that provides shooting from a distance and a lot of energy on both ends of the floor. His ability to create off the bounce will be something that the Tigers will need with the departure of Kiah Key Kiah Key 5'9" | PG Hartselle | 2023 State AL .
Coaches Corner
I spoke with Coach Key and asked him about two players he is interested in seeing how they perform in June, and he mentioned Markus Tapscott (6’7/F/’25), who he feels is on the verge of breaking out of his comfort zone and having a breakout year. Markus can do a little bit of everything, is dependable across the board, and will need to be that caliber player this upcoming year. The second player Coach Key mentioned is Cole Miles Cole Miles 6'1" | CG Hartselle | 2026 State AL (6’1/G/’26), who had flashes of brilliance playing up last year as a freshman. He will provide ball-handling and scoring from the guard spot, and people surrounding the Tigers program are very high on Cole.
The Tigers will look a little different next season as they will focus on playing to their strength which is their size. They will look to play with two bigs on the floor and be a team that hangs their hat on defense and controlling the boards. They will look to be more of a physical team and bruisers in the paint.
Look for Coach Key and his coaching staff to create and build the culture and environment that will allow this team to emerge into the best version of itself. A lot of guys will be taking on new roles on the team, So coach is hoping that June will help in the adaptation process for his players. He believes the faster his guys can adapt, the faster they can be on the path to success. One thing that Coach Key is confident will remain amid all the new changes is his team’s competitive spirit which should be there in every game his team plays.
