He was successful at it, getting to the rim and finishing strong. He was a downhill player and one of the best doing so that I watched on Sunday. He has good enough size and is strong when he gets to the basket. He must have had around 20 points and most all of them came from drives to the hoop. He also took a couple coast to coast for buckets. Strong player who can get to the rack time and time again. He is crafty as well, including trying to check himself into the game while I was getting roster from the coach. He was solid against some tough ball pressure and added a few rebounds even though he was the smallest player on the floor. He uses good footwork and plays at his own speed, setting up the defense and knocking down shots from mid-range with fadeaways, and step throughs. He can shoot the three. He has a high basketball IQ. He is versatile. He is strong enough to be effective scoring at the rim. It might not have been what he would consider a highlight but he made a nice cross court pass in the half court for a wide open three. I thought it was definitely notable as I see so many times that pass would be effective to get open looks. Maybe a lost art, was glad to see it happening.
