<!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>The Memphis Knights 16u competed in the Bluff City Blues as May opened, and they faced numerous challenges. The feisty Arkansas Storm 16u provided them with a taste of their own medicine...fullcourt pressure. The Arkansas-based team won going away, 75-54. How did they pull it off?</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1952189' first='Cody' last='McGhee']</strong>, a player with tremendous foot speed, was one of the Knights who struggled against the pressure. McGhee is typically a sound decision-maker, and he did not fail in that regard. He did have trouble staying in bounds along the sidelines when forced there by pass or trap. McGhee shot very poorly from the free throw line, uncustomarily so, and spent a few seconds at halftime trying to figure it out.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p><strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1919392' first='Kareem' last='Ollins']</strong>, throughout the weekend, contributed high energy and disruptive defense. Unfortunately for the Knights, Arkansas Storm used Ollins' aggression against him. When Ollins hunted the ball, and trapped or collapsed down the Storm kicked it to the open man and punished the Knights.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Overall, the team struggled to shoot and to rebound on defense. For the Knights open shots did pop up, but many were missed, specifically by<strong> Rodderius Shambley</strong> and <strong>[player_tooltip player_id='1952166' first='Rashad' last='Maclin']</strong>. A bright spot for the Knights occurred late in the first half as McGhee elected to slash more hungrily. He dashed by perimeter defenders and finished layups quite easily afterwards. McGhee did it again two possessions later. The teammates tried to spread and give him some room. And they did. </p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Maclin helped a decent amount as a defensive rebound, but his effort was frequently not enough.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p>Shambley's most impressive bucket was a runner as sprinting sideways into the lane.</p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:heading --> <h2 class="wp-block-heading">Memphis Knights 2025</h2> <!-- /wp:heading --> <!-- wp:paragraph --> <p></p> <!-- /wp:paragraph --> <!-- wp:table --> <figure class="wp-block-table"><table><thead><tr><th>JERSEY</th><th>NAME</th><th>CLASS</th><th>HEIGHT</th><th>SCHOOL</th><th>STATE</th><th>SOCIAL</th></tr></thead><tbody><tr><td><strong>0</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1798576' first='Brian' last='Carter Jr.']</td><td>2025</td><td>6'5"</td><td>Ridgeway</td><td>Tennessee</td><td><a target="_blank" href="https://instagram.com/b.carter2025" rel="noreferrer noopener"></a></td></tr><tr><td><strong>1</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1952189' first='Cody' last='McGhee']</td><td>2025</td><td>5'10"</td><td>Millington</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>2</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1919392' first='Kareem' last='Ollins']</td><td>2025</td><td>5'11"</td><td>Ridgeway</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>3</strong></td><td>Catrail Jones</td><td>2025</td><td>6'4"</td><td>Memphis Business Academy</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>4</strong></td><td>Rodderius Shambley</td><td>2025</td><td>5'8"</td><td>Ridgeway</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>5</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2399179' first='Tayshaun' last='Green']</td><td>2025</td><td>6'0"</td><td>City University</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>6</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1952166' first='Rashad' last='Maclin']</td><td>2026</td><td>6'2"</td><td>Bolton</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>7</strong></td><td>Tyler Mcfaden</td><td>2025</td><td>6'2"</td><td>Collierville</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>8</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2400223' first='Kobe' last='Milan']</td><td>2025</td><td>6'4"</td><td>Central</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>10</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='2399166' first='Tony' last='Tate']</td><td>2025</td><td>6'3"</td><td>Memphis Business Academy</td><td>Tennessee</td><td></td></tr><tr><td><strong>12</strong></td><td>[player_tooltip player_id='1952238' first='Caleb' last='Carpenter']</td><td>2025</td><td>5'11"</td><td>Memphis Business Academy</td><td>Tennessee</td></tr></tbody></table></figure> <!-- /wp:table -->
