There was a lot of good talent on hand in the 16U Division at last weekend's Prep Hoops Jayhawk Jam in Lawrence, KS. Here is a look at some of the top perimeter shooters that we watched at the event.

[player_tooltip player_id='1881825' first='Carter' last='Keeling'] (Missouri 66ers): Of all of the perimeter shooters that I watched during the weekend, this 6'3" 2025 guard from Purdy (MO) had the most impressive shooting range. He was knocking down shots from out to 30 feet and he was very comfortable doing it. He usually came off the bench, and when he did, he provided instant offense with his shooting.

DJ Jeffries (Hardwood Elite): A solidly built 5'11" guard from Lafayette High in St. Louis who could fill it up from downtown. In the opening game that I watched him, he knocked down six 3-pointers. He was very good off the catch and he was running the court well and hitting transition 3s on the move.

Alex Schonchardt (Mid Mo Elite): A 6'0" guard from Jefferson City Helias (MO) who had a very productive weekend, which was sparked by some excellent perimeter shooting. I was impressed with how well he moved without the basketball to get himself open. When he caught the ball, he was always shot ready.

Alec Grill (Kansas Select): A 5'11" combo guard from Maize (KS) who has excellent fundamentals and passing skills to go along with his potent 3-point shooting. What was impressive about his shooting was that it was very timely. He came up with big triples in the key parts of close games when it was needed.

Nick Waters (GABL Future): A 6'0" guard from Olathe (KS) who was knocking down 3-pointers from just about anywhere on the floor. He has a very smooth and quick release off the catch and his range extends well past the 3-point line. He made four triples in the one game that I watched him.

Jayden Herrera (AEF Academy-1): A 6'4" forward from Nebraska who is a high energy player as well as an excellent 3-point shooter. He made four 3-pointers in the opening that that I watched him. He really owned the Corner 3-pointer as that seemed to be his comfortable spot on the floor.

Trent Yates (Missouri 66ers): A 5'11" guard from Carthage (MO) who in addition to his perimeter shooting ability, he played with a strong motor. He was always moving and playing with high energy. He knocked down three 3-pointers in the game that I watched him play.

Braden Mann (LTD Select Blue): A 6'5" forward from Gardner-Edgerton (KS) who played the Stretch 4 role to perfection with his ability to hit 3-pointers and draw out opposing bigs. He has a quick release and excellent range on his shot.
