Michael Oaks
Michael has had a very productive month of April, having a huge starting role in the offense of Team Temple. Oaks is very good at using his height and wingspan to finish over the top of defenders under the basket. Michael is very light on his feet as well, possessing tremendous speed for his size. The big man also averages more than a couple blocks per game and has a great sense of awareness on both ends of the floor, always being in the right position to make a play. Most recently, Michael played in a tournament up in Indiana and had a solid game against a strong Mookie Betts team to close out the tournament with his squad going 4-0. Michael will look to continue this momentum moving forward in the grassroots season and offseason workouts.
Bryce Smith Bryce Smith 6’1″ | PG Barbers Hill | 2023 State TX has been a problem for opposing guards to deal with in Houston this season. He has continued his momentum for being the starting Barbers Hill point guard into the slot perfectly on Team Ford 17u. Smith is an efficient playmaker who always knows how to set his teammates up in the right spots for easy buckets. Bryce also knows when to score the ball and is quick off the dribble, beating defenders to the basket and also having the ability to knock down contested jumpers from a distance. Bryce is one of the many super talented unsigned seniors in Houston right now and college coaches should not wait to take advantage of his talents on the court!!!
CJ McCain has been a big time difference maker for the 17u Houston Defenders UAA team. He has the size and athleticism to take his matchup to the basket as well as score from the perimeter. His defense is also very effective as his lateral quickness matches his build, allowing him to lock up the opposing player and either notch a quick steal or block in the post. In my opinion, CJ is a very underrated player in the city of Houston, giving him that much more reason to up his game to the next level and make a huge impact on the hoops scene. Look for McCain to continue this high level of contribution into the next live periods and as we progress through the summer.
Emmanuel Delk
Emmanuel Delk
Emmanuel put on a performance in Indiana this weekend for his Marshall Warriors squad. Delk has a strong interior game and plays very solid and proper defense. He always is in the position to get the stop and rebound, while also having the strength to box out bigger opponents. He also possesses the ability to expand his offensive game to the perimeter if needed, very effective off the pick and pop as well as rolling to the basket. Delk plays a big role in the middle for this Warriors game and proved he can be relied on to score the ball on offense and protect the basket on the defensive side. This young man has big upside and will only continue to improve.
