As always, the event was loaded with teams and prospects from all over the country, and the baselines were packed with college coaches from all over the country as well.
We’ll be breaking down some of the standouts from all over the Prep Hoops Networks, looking here at part two some of the prospects from teams from DMV teams.
Yuri Manns Yuri Manns 6'3" | CG LC Bird | 2023 State VA | 6’3” CG | Team Loaded 804 17U
The Loaded 804 group pulled up and went on a run to the elite eight with a number of talented unsigned seniors, with Manns being their go-to playmaker and scorer. The two time All State selection showed his ability to handle the rock and handle pressure, and his entire scoring package was on display. He got downhill and got to the line a lot, he showed his ability to make shots from deep off the catch and off the bounce and he scores the ball in the midrange very well too.
Leland Coleman Leland Coleman 6'6" | SF Trinity Episcopal | 2023 State VA | 6’6” WF | Team Loaded 804 17U
Another available prospect that had coaches very intrigued, Coleman showed high level athleticism and continues to look more polished on the offensive end. The 6’6” wing had a number of highlight worthy finishes both in transition and in traffic, he showed improvement on his perimeter shot and in his handle as well. He has huge upside as he rebounds and has all the tools to be a high level defender as well.
Will Bonde Will Bonde 6'7" | PF Miller School | 2023 State VA | 6’7” WF | Team Loaded 804 17U
Bonde is another available senior who had a good showing, and he may be one of the more underrated available players in the state. The 6’7” forward really shines on the defensive end, as he brings toughness and moves his feet well enough to stay in front and uses his strength and length to be able to guard players in the post too. He shoots the ball well from deep, he’s an athletic and strong finisher at the rim and he makes good decisions on the perimeter too.
Brett Dent Brett Dent 6'8" | C LC Bird | 2023 State VA | 6’9” C | Team Loaded 804 17U
Dent is the fourth available player for this Loaded 804 and he’s likely going to take a post grad year, which is good for him as he started to show major improvement over the past few years. The 6’9” big fella is moving with purpose and he caught tough passes, he used his size to rebound and defend the paint and he showed good touch at the rim and the free throw line. The more he continues to play the better he’ll look and should see his recruitment pick up with another year.
Evan Morton | 6’2” PG | VA Premier 17U
Morton burst onto the scene at Pitt this weekend, as the 6’2” lead guard from United Faith (NC) intrigued a lot of people with his play. The first thing that stands out when you watch him play is his athleticism, as he has a strong body, a quick first step and he elevates well when he gets downhill to finish at the rim. He is dynamite in transition, he showed good instincts defensively and he played with a great motor throughout the event.
Alex Chaikin Alex Chaikin 6'4" | SG Trinity Episcopal | 2024 State VA | 6’5” WG | VA Premier 17U
Chaikin is a player to keep an eye on this summer, as he should see his stock soar as he had coaches very intrigued. He’s grown close to 4 inches over the last year and half, and now he’s a wing with prototypical size that can make shots at a high clip. He moves well off the ball and sets his feet quickly, he has effortless range and great mechanics and he can put it on the deck and attack closeouts.
